Pretty much what the title says. We rescued a beagle 3 months ago.
Today was the last straw. While I was away our beagle was tied up on his run outside. My 8 year old son came into his area with a pencil and I guess the dog jumped up and got the pencil from him. While my son was trying to get it back, the dog nipped him and drew blood and scratched him across the back with his nails.
He constantly jumps up on my kids for their toys or food. We tell him no and redirect him but my wife has had enough. She says he should learn the work "no" by now.
My wife says we shouldn't have to change our entire lives to accommodate the dog. For instance, my kids really can't eat around him. We have to tie him up during dinner cause he will jump up to the table and we always need to ensure our chairs are pushed in if there is food. She thinks it's too much.
I walk him every morning for a good hour. I take him to the dog park at least once a day. I give him a snuffle ball and he gets treats. He is mostly housebroken (occasional accident once per week).
He also isn't neutered yet. I really don't know what to do.
