Hello, I want to say in the first place that i have not seen the movies, but i think i have something interesting to tell.
Earlier today i was at the Prague airport for my flight, and my backpack got flagged for the anti drug test. The girl’s backpack in front of me also got flagged, and while they were checking hers I unconsciously looked over at her backpack. I saw a Blade Runner 2099 etiquette on it. The background was yellow with black text. The font was matching and everything. The backpack was also particular itself, having at what i can best describe crossing lines over it. The whole backpack was black, lines included. As I said i did not watch the movies, but i am familiar with them.
I mentioned it to my sister, and when I did the girl who owned the backpack turned around for a brief moment (I was standing right behind her.).
I did some research and I read that the series was also filmed in Prague, but still, I don’t know if i stumbled on someone from the crew or one of the actresses. I tried searching the backpack online but I saw nothing.
I apologize for my lack of information, but i hope this can be helpful someway.
PS. i’ll watch the movies someday, i swear

Another nine pieces, with some great variety in this batch, from huge dystopian cityscapes and vehicles to some much quieter character studies.

I particularly like how much of the film’s atmosphere is already there in these early designs. The scale, darkness and isolation feel unmistakably Blade Runner 2049.

Re-watched the OG Blade Runner recently and this version of the Vangelis score formed in my head. Super happy with how it came out.

Also, taking suggestions for a better title, and "Tears In The Rain" was too on the nose for me.

These films look so good it’s actually insane. I’ve owned these films on 4K for a while but just now is my first time owning a 4k tv(used to have a 1080p SDR tv from 2011). The HDR on these movies blew me away and the colors really popped in a spectacular way.

The first one was an unexpected surprise gift from a friend completely out of the blue and unexpected! Arrived the very same day the making of book I ordered recently arrived. Weekend made!

I like the presentation of these. They feel somewhere between publicity stills and lobby cards, and several of the images are striking as standalone prints. The Police Spinner in particular is a personal favourite.

The portfolio originally sold for just $9.95 and this one is still complete with all 12 prints, more than 40 years later.

How did he know where the shuttle was?

In the original Blade Runner Earth looked like it was on a path to become a really terminal pollution ridden high tech squalor.

30 years later in the sequel, we get to see how badly fucked up and worst things got over the years. The Earth is practically in a terminal state, and all the wealthy have all but left for the off world colonies.

Los Angles is a high tech dystopia with its skies grey and dim, and many of the corridors and alleys filled with pollution or high tech screens.

Future pollution and the possibility of future generations growing up in a dystopian society are a major issue discussed in our society today, with Balde Runner 2049 being released at a time where the issue was heavily discussed.

But personally do you think by 2049 our world will be as bad as it was in the movie? Or that it was an exaggeration?

This is the first original Blade Runner game that was released in 1982, I think it’s very cool

Sapper Morton was running a simple protein farming operation in the middle of nowhere, there was no mention he'd done any crimes when K was questioning him etc, his only 'crime' was running away from a certain death, to become a farmer.

He wasn't a risk to anyone, he was actually doing something good by running that Wallace designed farm. Its not like he was running around killing people in order to try to meet his maker like Roy etc was.

Why didn't K see this and just say he couldn't find him? Sapper attacking K was understandable given the circumstances imo, and he tried to reason with K by telling him he was just a simple farmer.

K's lack of compassion and not being able to adapt to a situation was disappointing, maybe they are aspects of being a replicant.

EDIT : I wish I could respond to everyone who has taken the time to comment but there are too many comments to reply to all of them, my understanding of the situation in the Sapper scene is more complete now, so thank you to those who informed me 👍

Just wondering has Ridley ever expressed his feelings about the sequel?
