How much does raw bat speed matter without the contact quality and swing decisions to turn it into production?

One of my coolest childhood memories is Chipper signing this ball for me in his final season at Gnationals park. Set up shop on the third base line and got really lucky after David Ross refused to sign any autographs and chastised kids for yelling his name. My only regret was not bringing a better pen. A+ if you remember the other player that signed it (without looking up the 2012 roster).
