I hadnât found many posts in this group using this camera, thought I would share.
My abuelo gave it to me, he used to use it for their vacations and travels, hadnât been turned on in at least 10 years.

My trv37 tapedeck was slowly going bad, i saw how fast it was to close the deck on the 517, my 37 was giving some errors and ejecting tape sometimes for no reason, so i dismantled both and swap the motherboard because i tried to just change the power chip and it didnt turned on the display, had to change the motherboard for that and i managed to swap the tape decks, so now i have a almost new tape deck again and the tr517 is 70% rebuilt but my beloved trv37 is back again, yayy (i was awake till 4am to do that whole process in 1 night)

Recently got into making found footage videos and films through blender and Virtual Reality. I want to get a real 1990s camcorder to record real audio such as talking through gas mask, walking, breathing, and camera movement so I can overlay it on my animations and recordings. I also want to use it for recording in real life that transition into animated scenes. Would be much appreciated for help and advice and where to get one, thank you

I live on an island in the Caribbean so shipping these in is a real hasstle. Is there some way for me to bypass this error? If not then what kind of batteries do I need to buy instead of these?

Hey fellas, moving old handycam cds to digital, got couple done but having an issue with one dvd in particular. It's finalized. When i try to move the files in the cd to my mac over usb, i get errors before it finishes moving files. So i tried to capture video over a capture card but playback on camera is also not working properly. On certain parts, i'm getting stuck footage. It waits for around a minute then moves to the next recording.
Is there a way to recover this file? Precious videos, so if possible i'd pay for it.

In 2025, I shot and edited this video for my friendsâ creative collective, Right of Passage (RoP).
All of the effects were created in-camera, using only my trusty Sony Handycam DCR-TRV210E.

Got a Panasonic AFx8 at a garage sale not too long ago and unfortunately the viewfinder is kind of messed up. The internet told me it could be bad capacitors, but the confusing thing is that all the capacitors I measured read fine on my multimeter, the AV out shows crystal-clear picture, and I can still see faintly picture showing through the viewfinder, as well as the words SLP and TAPE in camera mode. Can anyone please help? I really have no clue whatâs wrong at this point. Any help is appreciated!

Setting up a standard definition streaming/recording setup for that 1990s/2000s look. Upscaled to 1080p60 - Blackmagic Analog to SDI, UpDownCross converter into a Hyperdeck and ATEM. This is peak 2002 with the Canon GL2 and the Panasonic AG-MX70 mixer. Weâll be doing some livestreams soon with a mix of 1980s to current day camcorders. Still pulling out some of our old gear as well as acquiring some ânew to usâ equipment.

Hi,
I have a Panasonic Palmcorder IQ (PV-IQ404D), it only has yellow and white RCA cables, no S-video.
I saw that the I-o DATA USB GV-USB2 was recommended as it can do S-video.
Since I donât have S-Video, is there another recommended quality Analog to Digital convert usb?
Thank you for your time.
