The lightest Bentley since 1941

"The engine is actually a new variant of Bentley’s 4.0 L V8, with a strengthened engine block, new cylinder heads, and larger turbos. There’s also a dual-mass flywheel, but it remains wet-sumped. With 657 hp (490 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm), the Supersports isn’t the most powerful Bentley ever made, but it may be the most driver-focused. Both front and rear axles feature 48 V active anti-roll bars that can react in a third of a second, applying up to 960 lb-ft (1,300 Nm) of reaction torque to keep the car flat. The twin-valve dampers and air suspension have been recalibrated in Touring, Bentley, and Sport modes. And on the optional Pirelli Trofeo RS tires, it will corner at 1.3 Gs."

Regardless, this is a typically well-produced look at a vehicle I will almost certainly never consider owning. Proportionally, I find this new crop of electric SUVs pretty ugly, although the Cayenne is at least a lot sleeker than the electric Macan, which looks like a pregnant ICE Macan with a bee allergy stepped on a hive and forgot its EpiPen.

I’m very curious to see how these things depreciate.

Anyway, I’m going to get back to enjoying the simple, understated luxury of my decade-old BMW, which currently only has two things that need repairing.

So this is the new affordable gas powered pickup built in the brand new Blue Oval city plant Farley was talking about. It could be called Ranger or a different name, but it will be different than the global Ranger now just like how the Tacoma and Hilux or Frontier and Navara are completely different midsize pickups. I guess Ford/Farley is planning to do this so the Ranger could be more successful here if it’s more Americanized. It will also be produced alongside an E-REV large SUV that could be the size of the old Excursion. It’s actually a lot clearer now what the 5 new Ford’s under 40k by 2030 will be.
