After looting 3 separate labs, I finally crossed a threshold for the first time :D Now I just need to use my slime primer to try to cancel out disintegration with a fast healer. Don't like that imma have to roleplay a Tyrant now.

I have an unidentified illness, i think it is related. I got lucky I had a ton of resources on the first days, so I have been trying to sleep for almost a week, but always get the message "you start walking" "you wake up". I'm dead tired, can't do anything about it. Just been eating, drinking and trying to pass time, it has been several days like this, inside a limo. I think it must have something related to a glowing flaming orb I saw burning the field a few weeks ago (according to google)

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked a bunch but the only one I found here had functionally no answer so I am inclined to ask here.

I am currently on the vanilla 0.I stable release and I like to test a lot of items and spawns. I've noticed that using (F)lags doesn't actually do anything anymore? Like no prompt shows up, but the menus appear motionless as if the flags prompt appeared. Is this a known bug or is it something on my end?

Just finished completely exploring a logistics hub and took everything useful that I didn't have yet, and now I have to haul this over my base along with looting from my previous adventure in a physics lab. I have to sort and repair my gear and change the build of 3 NPCs as well. god, I love and hate it. 90% of my run has been sorting and crafting cause I want to make my character as OP and hoard things till I don't need any more as fast as possible so I can just have fun exploring later on

Hey, long time traditional roguelike player. Thought I'd give CDDA a go. Watched some vids, decided to try a bunch of crafting at the start of my run. I craftef 2-3 things and my joy drops to 20% ... Ok, that's fine, put in some music and eat some yummy food while waiting an hour, my joy goes to 40% ... Ok... leave the music on and craft another thing, back down to 20% Joy... WTF at this rate I'm never going beyond 2 in any skill.

In the videos I watched, one guy spent the whole day crafting and only dropped to about 50% Joy. Some guy was able craft easily 5x things I did and didnt drop below 80% Joy. I tested it on even just foraging bushes in the forest and it seems the Joy to skill up ratio is about 5x worse on at least that activity than the vids I watched. Granted the videos were all 1-8 years old... But did the devs really literally nerf all the joy and fun out of this game?

Can you make NPCs auto-farm and stay at the base? . They seem only follow you around and guard specific locations.

Also , are there any requirements for starting farming like missions , beside tools and seeds?

i want to get into playing cdda but there's just so many controls its hard to do anything without it taking forever
is there any decent way to somehow keep track of them all? or most of them at least
i somehow need to get the muscle memory for them but its not exacly.. you know, easy
i know its a hard game but come on i dont want the controls to be hard

So I'm working up my unarmed right now however, I'm struggling to sometimes even identify which items are a unarmed weapon and which are just a like, "dagger that you punch with", and I can't figure out how to filter searches in either nornagon or in the game's crafting menu.

So first, can anybody help me figureout what to look for so I can figure out what is an unarmed weapon?

And second, what's your favorite/best unarmed weapon you've found or come across?

The idea behind this little car is to turn it into an exploration vehicle that I can also sleep in. This is what it has so far.

My plan is to eventually add A7 laser rifles to it, which is why it already has so much battery capacity installed. I also want to add another 0.5 diesel engine later on, but I’ll wait until I reach Mechanics 8 for that. I’m currently only at Mechanics 6.

I’m using a freezer instead of a cargo space because the idea is to be able to hunt and keep frozen food inside the car. I’ve got the basic tools with me: a screwdriver, axe, knives, weapons, a hotplate, pots, and a cooking kit.

Since I started using the ‘CDDA MENU’D LAYOUT’ community layout, the usability has improved considerably and I no longer need to use the keyboard. (It wasn’t quite perfect for me, so I added a few keys and made some minor adjustments.) I’m not quite used to the controls yet, but as I’ve only just started playing CDDA, to be honest, it’s not really a problem. Of course, partly because of that, there’s a chance I might be overlooking some usability issues.

As I don’t need to use the keyboard, I can get away with a smaller font size. As you can see, it’s much better than the previous one I posted few days ago. I’ll come back and share my thoughts once I’ve had a proper go and got a bit more used to it. I’ve been a bit busy of late, so it’ll probably be a little while yet.

I haven’t really used my Steam Deck properly for over a year, so I’m really excited at the thought of putting her to good use again.

I've heard this game a lot and apperantly it is an open source game. But how do they prevent random people from uploading viruses or injecting malicious code to the game? Does someone even owns this game?

Would have died if not for my defence system because I didn't expect 7 mutants greeting me and pulling me in as i peek into the door. I have never tried looting lower floors of the logistics hub before, mostly cause my previous characters died before they could.

Is there an end? Does the game recognize when you reach a certain level? You know what I mean?
