So I have an in-line 261 Chevy engine that was popping through the exhaust when giving is gas. Just for the truck a few weeks ago so I didn’t know a lot about it but I knew it popped. So I’ve rebuilt the carburetor thinking maybe that was the issue. I reinstalled the carb and tried to start it Friday when I got up north. Truck started but still popped when giving gas. When I shut the truck off it sounded like it shut down hard. I then tried to restart and and it would not start, sounded kind of weird. I confirmed engine it not locked up. I pulled the plugs and tried again thinking maybe it was hydrolocked. I think that’s the word. Engine still sounded strange while cranking. Just cranked for a quick second. I then pulled the valve cover off and seen this. It’s one of the pedestals the rocker assembly sits on. So 2 questions. Where can I find another pedestal? And what’s causing the popping?

so I’ve always wanted to buy a shortbed Chevy pre-90s like a k10 or possibly even an 80s blazer. But would any truck like that be too advanced as a starter for learning these skills? i Don’t want to jump into something without knowing full well what I would be getting into.

Saw this at a recent show. Not sure of the exact year but I think it may be a '49 or '50.

I’m getting my license soon and I’ve always been into the classic Ford trucks I really love the old f250 Highboys but I also really like the 1977 f150.

I absolutely love the one in the picture for sale, but it’s wayyy out of my price range. I just want to show what kind of truck I like and the style I’m looking for.

For anyone who knows about these trucks how reliable are they actually? I know they’re old and really aren’t going to be as reliable as a newer vehicle, but would one be realistic as a first vehicle? How are the original engines/transmissions and what are some of the main things I should look out for when buying one? Is FB marketplace an okay place to buy?

And are there any other Ford trucks that have a similar look but might be cheaper or easier to own?

I’m trying to figure out if getting one would actually be a good idea or if I should look for something else with a similar style which I’m worried I won’t find.

Just had this delivered a couple weeks ago.
Solid body, not original engine but is still an inline 6. Have to replace the gas tank and a few other things. Nothing major. But should be a fun project. She does run but pops when giving it gas. No brakes. Master cylinder leaks like crazy. The patina is what caught our attention to this truck so that will stay as it is for now. She pops when giving gas so I rebuilt the carburetor and will be seeing if that fixes the issue this weekend.

This is gonna be a long shot, Im trying to track down my grandpa's old truck, I've heard about the power that Reddit can do so if this truck is still out there I hope it can be found.

It is a 1993 Ford F-150 5.0 (302), Auto, XLT, 4x4, Single Cab, Long Bed, Paint color is Jewel Green Metallic, Unknown VIN number currently working on it now, It had around 190k miles when sold to a local teen around 2016-2018, then was sold again and was last seen heading towards Illinois on a truck and trailer with Illinois plates.

The truck was stock as far as I was told except it had a glasspack muffler, When it was sold it still had running boards and lights on the running boards, grab handles, it had the cb equipment removed as well as the toolbox, and no camper shell, The F on the tailgate fell off, had a single piece back glass, no cab lights, matte black bug shield, had mudflaps, it had Summit, FFAM (Firefighter Association of Missouri) stickers on back glass, the truck was rusty in the the front clip at the time heard it was maybe fixed maybe not, It had trailer brake wiring, had a hitch went under and attached to the frame

About the interior I have no pictures of it but interior was grey with carpet, bench seat, had a brake controller on the dash, and had a aftermarket radio I don't know the brand.

Title says it all. Im eager for it to be cooler out so i can be cooler out in my ride.

I have a 1988 Ford Ranger 2.0L and am trying to figure out how to change the transmission fluid on my own for the first time, better late than never I guess. Anyways I’ve been going in person to the part stores and I’ve found each place gives me a different type of fluid to use. My owners manual does show there to be 2 different types of 5 speed transmissions. My visor shows I have the overdrive one, while my door sticker shows the other one. I’ve been told you can look under near to know for sure but don’t have a clue what ild be looking for.

Sure do love this rig! My fully restored 1977 Ford F150, modernized with Holley EFI on a 400 paired to a C6 and NP205, on BaT. Have had a ton of fun in this truck, and it sure does turn a bunch of heads!
