My sister is new to the cookie decorating world and struggling to figure out how much to charge per dozen. Her concern is if she charges too much they won’t come back but she puts a ton of effort into these and I want her to be paid her worth.
Search local cookiers and compare her skill level to them and use their pricing as a base idea. It can be a huge range depending where you are, how saturated the market is, etc. For reference mine are probably similar to hers and I charge $40 per dozen.
Perfect example of why where she lives is important! My cookies are similar to hers as well and I start at $70/dz. These would easily be $90/dz where I live.
You can sell by the dozen or individually. Personally since you’re doing multiple variations within a dozen I’d charge individually. So for these, with how clean and polished your work is and the amount of detail with the webbing I’d start with at least $4 dollars per cookie if not more (personally I’d sell these for $5 each). But that also depends on location too. If they were all round cookies and one design I’d just sell them by the dozen. And wouldn’t waver from that. But that’s just how I’d do it and as a customer it’s understandable and fair imo.
I recently just placed an order for custom birthday cookies. 4 designs, 24 cookies, 6 of each - this was her message “Cookies are $12 a dz. $15 if you want them individually wrapped”. Her character designs are $15 a dozen. I am very shocked she doesn’t charge more, I’ll be giving her a tip. (She’s completing a cake for me as well!)
I live in PA! She does seem to get a lot of traction & business, maybe that’s why she’s able to price so low? I also didn’t see her second photo for some reason, the cookies OP posted are super fabulous. And definitely should be over $12 a dozen, I was just stating what I paid.

I would recommend she looks into local cookie prices and start there. Prices really vary.
