Question/Request for Help Why Do You Write?

When I’m asked why I write, I always want to give a clever answer. Something profound.

But the truth is simpler: I’m curious. I ask questions. I like figuring things out. And I like finding the right words.

I wrote about that, my journey from journalism to SEO, copywriting and digital marketing, and what I bring to the work.

Yesterday, I had the realization that I needed to let go of my identity as a writer (at least professionally). With AI, I’m more of a strategist and an editor. Most of my working day is spent devising tests, prompting the machine, and editing the output. I really don’t have time to sit down and write ads like I used to, because I’d fall behind on my workload.

Same here mahn. I'm gradually transitioning to digital marketing as a whole instead of solely focusing on copywriting.

I know Charles Bukowski wasn't talking about copywriters in his poem 'so you want to be a writer?' but a lot of it still rings true for me. I can't not write.
