Callum Kavanagh (A)
Kabia (G)
Barry (G)
Szmodics (G)
Idah (G+A)
Idah and szmodics continue their strong starts in the championship and both kabia and Barry looking good in league 1 despite barry coming off in the 16th minute. Kavanagh starting strong in league 2 and hopefully gets a good move upwards soon.

Zac is curretly with Halifax in the National league and has been playing well recently, along with fellow Irishman Conor Carty. Zac has scored three goals in four league games, he's got an assist today and also setup Carty with a through ball but the keeper saved well.

Still very early days & it's gonna be a while before we proper think about the squad but there's a few things to look at
We've Caoimhin Kelleher, enough said
If we weren't doing well here something would be seriously wrong but early signs are very good. John Egan getting back to back clean sheets for Hull is amazing, Nathan Collins looks like he's hitting his prime, Omo & Abankwah are going well on the mainland, Liam Scales was back in the 11 at the weekend after Trustys midweek stinker. Still some lads like Cashin that could use a move & Bosun Lawal doesn't seem fit but much of it's looking rosy
Probably the biggest area of concern people had cause of Seamus Coleman & Robbie Bradys future but their competition is going fine. Mark Sykes is starting for Millwall as a right full & has 2 G/A already, but he did get his lights smacked out by Ryan Mannings Southampton. The latter will always divide people cause of what happened in Prague but has a few goal involvements to his name already & honestly has been at his best since the Prague mistake. Dara O'Shea's playing there for Ipswich this season too & likewise has had good & bad results. Joel Bagan playing every week for Cardiff, Danny McNamara doing the same at Charlton, Jimmy Dunne scored on Saturday, Josh Honohan got an assist for Lincoln in the week. The 2 old lads will have to sort their futures & Will Ferry at Dundee Utd likewise, but we have lads that are naturals available so should be grand
Obviously this is gonna vary because there's different kinds of midfielders & not all of them would be in the 2 man midfield. But all the same we still had Finn Azaz, Jack Moylan & Jason Knight get amongst the goals at the weekend. Harvey Vale was rested Saturday but been playing deeper this season so that's good to see. Conor Coventry has been going well, Molumby playing every week. A lots been said about Devaney but same time you've those lads & others like Jamie McGrath to choose from for 5-7 spots so would probably need more knocks to get a shout. It's definitely not perfect, likes of Browne, Smallbone & Alex Gilbert badly need to find a new club & watching Andy Moran be a water boy at Preston is heartbreaking. And there isn't necessarily that world beater that everyone keeps pining for. But it'd be worse if the lads weren't playing well, and they are playing well, so that's the main thing
We're in bother. The good news is that Kasey is getting more time in the Prem than he did with Leicester, which isn't a lot but still something. Millenic Alli got an assist on Saturday so hopefully that can push him on a bit. Owen Elding has been praised plenty by Hibs fans but he did just get injured, hopefully not serious. Louie Barry finally kicked off for the season with a brace at Wednesday over the weekend. But Cheeo isn't playing, MJ isn't playing, Festy has only a few cameos so far, Rocco Vata the same, Eoin Kenny not involved at all at Pompey, Ochoa Moloney injured, both Umehs injured, Szmodics only just back & will probably get another one. It's the biggest concern for the season so far anyways. Saving grace is maybe that opens the door to take that gamble on Ceadach O'Neill just to get him locked in.
Troys only just in the door at Betis so still have more to come from him & we know what Ferguson can do for us when he's fit. But the backups are a bit of a concern too. Idahs playing every week now at Swansea & he was involved in one of the goals at the weekend but there's room for improvement, especially to fill Vipotniks boots. Tom Cannon scored twice last week but his all round play is still lacking. Sinclair Armstrong scored in his first game in Turkey but struggled in the next one. And I've no clue what Johnny Kenny's at with Celtic, he's a club in Bolton that'd take him back in a heartbeat but looks happy enough to warm the bench in Scotland.
Plenty of good there but as J_D posted in here the other day, there's a load of lads who need to sort their futures before deadline day, and some after too. And we're probably lacking someone at a truly high level in the wide areas

good piece here from James Callan

I do wonder with him and finneran, surely one gets called up but these are important fixtures in the next window so I'd wonder if both would be brought in.
We are looking light with some regulars like smallbone, Cullen and taylor out of the picture for now.

Interesting to see Matteo Egan (18) starting and playing the full 90 minutes in each game for Empoli in Serie B this season. Italian born right back/wing back
Provided an assist today with a nice cross. Would expect to see him in the U21’s

Here's who I think could do with a move:
- Evan Ferguson (21) - ST | Brighton
- Jake O'Brien (25) - CB | Everton
- Chiedozie Ogbene (29) - RW | Ipswich
- Jack Taylor (28) - CM | Ipswich
- Will Smallbone (26) - CM | Free Agent
- Seamus Coleman (37) - RB | Free Agent
- Robbie Brady (34) - LM | Free Agent
- Mark Travers (27) - GK | Everton
- Alan Browne (31) - CM | Sunderland
- Johnny Kenny (23) - ST | Celtic
- Will Ferry (25) - LB | Dundee Utd
- Eiran Cashin (24) - CB | Brighton
- Alex Gilbert (24) - CAM | Free Agent
- Darragh Lenihan (32) - CB | Free Agent
- Shane Duffy (34) - CB | Free Agent
- Michael Obafemi (26) - ST | Burnley
- Sam Curtis (20) - RB | Sheffield United
- Sean Keogh (20) - LB | Brighton
It's been a good window so far imo, Parrott getting the big move, nearly all of our U21s are playing senior football now like Devaney, Finneran, Murphy, McCarthy, Melia etc.. few young uns off to good academies in Portugal, Italy, Spain etc.. Bazunu, McNamara, Sykes, Moylan, Alli, Armstrong & Adaramola have all found homes at a good level.
That said, you can see from the list before we've a high number internationals who either don't have a club, or are at a club where they likely won't get many minutes. I think most need to get a move on or we'll be in a spot of bother for the Nations League.

just after watching this from Éire Videos on twitter.
Looking like a very composed midfielder. Slick passer, excellent reading of the game, deft touch, plenty of time to physically mature but able to get stuck in. Finally, a holding midfielder that can steady the ship and initiate attacks??....

Left out of our (Hibs) squad today amidst rumours of a 400k move down south.
Been absolutely brilliant for us this season but last year of contract and probably feels he has a better chance at Irish recognition if Leicester bounce back into the championship. I imagine they can also pay a lot more than us without breaking a sweat.

Not necessarily advocating for this, but do you think it would be justified (or even possible) to organise a potential fan boycott of the Austria home game in opposition to the the FAI handling of the Israel fixtures?
Fans have already spent money so maybe would be too late, but would the fanbase support such an action?

A lad that has quietly gone about his business. Delighted for him.
Should he stay free from injury, he makes an Ireland squad any day.
An Irish man captaining any team in a top 5 league should always get his plaudits. Fair play to him and let’s hope he kicks on even further and all the best to him in France!
