Don’t disrespect Antony like that, he’ll be feeding him too

What's he feeding him?, a chip?.

I’m predicting a 38th minute goal

4

u/UnalomeJourneying 3d ago

Nah you’re being too optimistic… I’m saying 39th

Just missed a sitter. Good movement but should have scored. He’ll be sick

Almost off the mark

Unlucky. Put the ball in the net at least

Who was offside for the disallowed goal? Both looked onside from what I could see .

Actually a very entertaining game

La Liga is chaos 😅

Big miss but he's playing well and they do seem to mostly understand his movement

Parrott subbed off after 58mins

u/hungoverbunny 3d ago

Ya disappointing

4

u/openetguy 3d ago

I think it'll be a while before he plays more than 60/70 mins.

Fair on reflection must be some adjustment to the heat there. May take a bit. Big irish heads weren't made for summer in seville

he spent lots of time in Dubai

Nice one thanks gonna flick it on

Did okay. Good positioning and worked hard to win the ball back at times. Should have scored though. Hopefully he gets off the mark soon.

Dragged one wide in his first game and should have scored today. Hell need to start converting these chances or he'll be sold at the end of the season.

He's building a duck

3

u/UnalomeJourneying 3d ago

How’s he played first half?

Mostly unlucky between an offside goal that was a close as could be and a shaky midfield that aren't creating that many chances for him.

He's been an incredible presence on the pitch outside of goal scoring though. Can feel the pressure on him to score though hope he can get one

Good sign he’s starting so soon. Pellegrini obviously rates him.

If he kicks on at Betis, they’ll be the most followed Spanish team in Ireland!

I think they already are

1

u/Winter_Decision_5466 3d ago

they wouldn’t have spent 20 million on him if he didn’t rate him tbf

Antony’s going to cross a ball into Parrott for a lovely headed goal at some point.

Heads to control. Bicycle to finish.

Hooked on 57th min.  Probably meaningless but fotmob rating was not kind.

u/lambalambda 3d ago

He was good, missed a sitter he should have buried but was unlucky to see a goal ruled offside and did well to keep the ball for their first.

Not watched it but saw the goal he set up and offside goal. Getting praised in twitter too

u/drumlins17 3d ago

Would've been higher if that first goal went down as an assist. Played well enough. Glad Hernandez didn't do much when he came on

2

u/radionul 3d ago

Fotmob gave him a 6 something when he came on for AZ recently, played brilliantly and got an assist. But because the assist took a deflection the app algorithm didn't pick it up.

Yeah, it really reminds me of old Championship Manager where a lad is on 6, scores and suddenly went to an 8 or if he was on an 8, got sent off, he dropped to a 5. Even today, the disproportionate ratings for people who scored is mad. Ferry is on an 8.9 or something like that. Goals just seem to count very heavily in their ratings.

Pellegrini loves chopping and changing strikers. At city he often had 4 options and would still play 4231 quite a bit. At 3 years in City he had Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic, Negredo, Bony and Iheanacho.

He just loves rotation. Both shifting players position depending on the game, in the middle of the game and hooking players just to spark something and give opponents something new to think about. Parrott will play from the bench, start play striker, behind the striker, wide. This is what he does with players who are flexible.

Hear me out, brace for him today.

He’ll score goals in that league, standard of defending, outside the top 2/3 is shocking.

Go on Troy.

3

u/Hopeful-Vanilla-2800 3d ago

Don't know why you're getting downvoted. Standard of defending was awful even in that match.

3

u/Frequent-Movie3005 3d ago

Yep. Lads who’ve never watched a La Liga game not involving Barca or RM

-1

u/ktth01 3d ago

La Liga teams apart from the top2/3 play ultra low blocks. They don’t give you space at all. It is harder to score than one thinks.

3

u/Frequent-Movie3005 3d ago

Wrong. Not when against each other.

Laughing at the comment being made on a thread about a game that had 7 goals.

u/John__Delaney 3d ago

Highlight of the day was him holding off 4 players before the ball deflected to a Betis player to score. Technically not an assist but he made that goal happen.

Had a few other moments but most crosses just didn't go near em.

Levante we're very impressive, now 4-2 up.

Going to take a while before he acclimatises to the heat.

Also going to take time before he's cohesive with the 3 lads in behind him, once they know his runs better he'll get alot more shots off.

1

u/WHULeaf 3d ago

so happy he didnt come to west ham with us lot doing shite

-1

u/OrganicVlad79 3d ago

Already at least twice in two games Antony has opted to shoot instead of giving Parrott a simple pass in behind

-6

u/eoghchop Roy Keane 3d ago

Hopefully he does well and the Benzema rumor isn’t true.

3

u/Automatic_Yogurt69 3d ago

Benzema is coming 39 in December and hasn't played in a competitive league in years.
