Criterion Pickup/Haul Questionnaire: 1. What is the movie you plan to watch from your purchase first? 2. Is there anything from this purchase that you have been looking forward to owning for a long time? 3. Are any of your purchases blind buys? If so, why did you select them? 4. What is a Criterion you're hoping to add to your collection next?

Pickup/Haul Posts without this questionnaire filled out will be removed. If that happens and you would like to try again, repost with the questionnaire answered, and it will be approved. Ignore this comment if your post is not a pickup/haul.

Depends of your mood. Triangle of sadness is the most modern and accesible, Night Moves is my favourite of those súper moody noir.

Night Moves all the way - one of Hackman's best performances, and one of my favorite neo noir films

Triangle of Sadness, and make sure to make a big bowl of spaghetti to eat while watching

Mean Streets. It’s the best of those 4. An early Scorsese classic. Much like what Thief is to Michael Mann, Mean Streets is the rosetta stone of Scorsese movies, it’s all there. And it’s also a fantastic documentation of 1970’s NYC grit and grime.

Great fucken way to put. This is only second to goodfellas for me in terms of Scorsese at his best.

"And it’s also a fantastic documentation of 1970’s NYC grit and grime"

This is what struck me most about the film. I loved that aspect of it.

It was also not at all what I was expecting. I was expecting a story driven gangster film but it was actually a character driven buddy/dark comedy film. A bit meandering for my taste as a first watch, may revisit one day.

Night Moves is the only one here I’ve seen, but it’s excellent.

Thanks gang. Couldn’t really go wrong. Went with Mean Streets. It was good! Going to hold off on Altered States to watch with my girlfriend. She likes that stuff too.

I love Triangle Of Sadness so much. It’s definitely not a perfect movie but has the best middle part ever. The entirety of the middle chunk of the movie I just want to play on repeat. I have a specific sense of humor and I thought it was the funniest thing I’ve seen in years

Altered States. Excellent trip-out film that is equal parts MK Ultra and In Search of Sasquatch. Highly recommend.
