School Related Rant this school needs to get better chairs bruh
I can’t be doing a 4 hour long class with a 10 minute break on a chair that’s 2 inches tall and made of plastic

Hi all,
We’ve been getting a lot of roommate search posts so we are making a megathread. Please exercise caution when searching for a roommate. Always be careful vetting every person you talk to. Also strongly encourage users to check out the Facebook thread. Keep in mind. We are not mods in the Facebook thread, we are unaffiliated with them, but they have a lot more experience helping people find roommates. As an alumni, I can vouch for them, I found every roommate I had during my time at CSULB through the Facebook thread. There are a few other Facebook threads if you just search “CSULB roommate” but the most popular one is the one that’s linked.
Again please exercise caution talking with people on Reddit and be careful what personal information you share, but as requested by popular demand we have made a megathread.

Due to the recent spike in 1-day accounts, we have decided to set an automod 10-day account age minimum for posts and comments in the subreddit. This should help to reduce the amount of bot and troll activity in the subreddit, and hopefully make it a more enjoyable experience for all of you. Any account that is younger than 10 days will have their post removed until we can verify it's legitimate. At most, there may be a suspension or a ban from the subreddit, depending on user activity.

First things first, yes I do understand that MCS doesn’t show up in bank accounts until October.
My main question/confusion lies with the fact that the MCS isn’t showing up in the CSAC site as well as the financial aid section of the CSULB student center. It doesn’t say that it’s denied or awarded in CSAC, it’s just simply blank. I know i have eligibility left for my final senior semester. Last year the MCS showed as awarded in late July, and I’ve seen other reports of students saying it’s already showing in CSAC and the student center for them this year.
Is it normal to be waiting this long or should I reach out to CSAC or Financial Aid?
Thanks in advance

Hi guys i’m doing the supplemental application and took 2 chem courses at my cc to fulfill chem 140. On the supplemental application it only has one section for the chem part. Do I put 10 units since both classes were 5 units or should I just put 5?
And also for the transferable GPA, I have a 3.86 but it saves as 3.860. Should I leave it like that or as 3.864?
That is all.

Hello everyone! I (29M) made a post a few days ago that was a shout out to all my classmates this semester that are in their late 20s and early 30s. I wanted to ask something that has come up in my mind.
Little bit of where I'm coming from:
I'm a liberal studies major, and it's been 4 months since my last relationship (a person I met outside of CSULB), and I'm thinking about putting myself back in the dating scene, and I thought about the idea of potentially looking for a date here on campus. To be honest, I've been avoiding the idea of asking a classmate out because of my age. I know I'm not geriatric lol (sorry if I offended anyone), but I still feel weird about seeing a classmate I'd like to talk to and ask for a coffee date with if it turns out they're like 8 years younger than me >.<
Should I just avoid it all together? Is there a dating scene at all for students in my demographic? Am I just rambling? lol

Hiii I take the OC bus to school, commuting around 1 hr 15 min on the 60 to Long Beach. I was just curious if anyone else does the same? This is my first year taking the bus and I’ve had some pretty strange encounters, including weird men staring at me the entire bus ride and seeing bus drivers almost get assaulted by ppl on drugs on the way home. Does anyone have any tips on when the 60 is safest, or when people ride it the least? Any tips on how to stay safe on the bus 😓 I hope this question isn’t too dumb, but I’m just trying to understand bus culture better and I want to know how to be safe on the bus. Thanks!

It most likely just me but, I wanted to ask if anyone else’s canvas slow today? At first I thought it was my computer and I restarted it and closed all my tabs and logged into everything again but it either say page not found or just went super slow, and is continuing being just slow.

I emailed a prof before school started if I could add the class and he got my id and stuff and keeps saying every class he’ll add the people who showed up on the first day and stuff but it’s been a week and no email.. does it usually take this long? Should I just try to find another class? Last semester I asked a prof to join a class and I got an email that same day that I got a permit to add it

Hey guys, I’m developing a short film for my honors thesis called Blended Coffee (writing and directing it). It combines the narrative of friends falling out with the structure of thermodynamic entropy. I am on my 5th draft of the script, and am in the process of getting crew together.
I’d like to see if there are any producers in the film department who would want an opportunity on set.
how would you recommend studying for her exams? her exams are broken up in 2 days which is the first time ive experienced this any input is deeply appreciated

Im enrolled in professor geiers math 119 class rn but i was browsing the student center and saw that theres another class at the same time with richard lara and its open. I looked at the rmp scores combined and theyre around the same with richard having signifigantly less math 119 reviews but them being all positive with things such as a cheat sheet while geier has alot more reviews with a more balanced out overview. Anyone who has had either, what are they like in terms of tests and being able to be juggled with chem 111b in the same semester?

Hey! Is anyone selling Soc 356 Reader (Mozena Text) and/or Textbook (Classical & Contemporary Sociological Theory:Text and Readings. 4th edition)
Ty!
I wanted to know if there were any groups or organizations on campus that deal with PTSD or trauma related issues. Maybe if anyone wants to create a group to help eachother? Counseling is something I wouldn’t do since I’d trust someone who has the same issues as me

Is my schedule too much. Ive adjusted it like 2 times now but this is the best i could do. I want to work and applied to a couple of on campus jobs but still have to hear back from them 🫣oh and i’m a business major

I'm in her class this semester since it was the only english ge that fits in my schedule, but im a bit intimidated since the syllabus says we do 5 essays, 2 portfolios, timed essays, and 1 research paper and i am super weak at writing.
Ive heard that other english classes didnt have to do that much so i was thinking of dropping her class, but when i read her rate my professor which has 7 reviews, she had really positive reviews and people saying that her prompts are easy and that she will not let you fail, so i am kinda second guessing myself now.
Idk if the people who reviewed are just good at writing etc, but i just want to know if this class is worth to get over with or if i will have a hard time and should just drop and take another english ge next sem 😭

Hi yall! My partner lost their car keys on campus today and are not sure where they are. They were previously in the business building and at the gym. There is a Garchomp rubber reel attached to the keys and some other keychains.
Called the campus police and lost and found but no one has turned it in there yet.

I signed up for an E-refund because I paid for the textbooks but no longer needed it. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive the refund?
