Question First time player
I’ve recently brought the trilogy, I’ve managed to find my way to the Taurus demon and used gold pine to fight him (after an unreasonable amount of deaths I found the ladder to the archers) I’ve had a little wander around and have come across 2 routes, one has a boar the other has a dragon, where am I meant to be heading?
Edit: thank you everyone, I see that the game is more free rein than I assumed , I thought it might have been a case like the graveyard. I’m going to try level up a little bit and take on the boar. Someone said about running under the dragon but I keep dying to fire when I get to the other side of the bridge. (I thought I made it but died at the door) I saw a lever so going to circle back for it
Update: the boar is now dead 😎 thank you everyone that told me to chose a path and didn’t tell me exactly what to do and how to do it

If there's two ways to go, there's two ways to go. One might seem more challenging than the other, but if there's a way, there's a way.

Well that depends and I can give you no clear answer. First off there is no direction that would be "right". But as you asked 2 specific areas I will give you hints.
The Dragon Bridge gives you access to a shortcut to a area you have already been. It also leads to the Boar as well. Also there is a door that lets you access another area. If you don't have a key for that, don't forget it and come back later.
The boar Area leads to an Area you haven't been yet.

If you scout the bridge properly you will find a welcome surprise that helps you tackle the next leg of the journey a tad bit easier.
Spend your souls and then just try and dash under the dragon.

While generally I think players should discover these things for themselves, there's a Dark Souls ah-ha! moment waiting for you here which you'd rather hit earlier than later, to learn the layers of the game.
You wanna find a path here which leads to a place which will be familiar to you. It's close to where you are, in fact sounds like you might've walked past it without noticing.
It's sort of a first step to understanding the layers of the game's world building and one you'll benefit from knowing before you approach anything with tails or tusks.

Since no one mentioned it, if you need a quick soul farm, if you step on the bridge and immediately run back down, the wyvern will roast the whole bridge for you. Free 555 souls. It's not much later on, but for now it can help if you need souls to repair your equipment (or to buy the repair box)

Thank you, I’ll keep an eye out for more encounters like this

There's one mid to late game that's considered the best soul farm. I was able to get about 400k in ng after some time (I didn't time it).

you can go either way.
