I’m trying to connect 6 devices via usb to the H12 MIDI pro.
USB Input 1 is pushing the signal out to all usb midi devices 2-5 in this case
This is causing ground loop hum through my devices
A couple of Elektron boxes with proprietary power supplies and a couple of TE devices with battery power. The other is a mixer .
Is this not a feasible thing? Do I need to make sure some are TRS to standard MIDI cables?

Using a Roland t8 for a while now with a s1. I like it a lot. Only want to make dawless techno, only playing live jams. I found the t8 limited with drums and percussion. Really like the 303 bass though. Where to move next?
A sampler like the Model Samples or the p6?
Or the Model Cycles? Or just the tr6s or tr8s?
Also considering the Korg NTS4 mixer.
Please help me where to move next?

Haven't made music in years but been going nuts feeling a constant internal calling to get back into it. Recently picked up some new kit to scratch the itch as I travel frequently for work. First time in about five years writing music again and started at my one year anniversary trip.

Today is the day! My first full-length album is out today on bandcamp. I recorded this in mostly single takes using primarily an 0-Coast and Strega, along with an SQ-1 and Edge.
I'm hosting a live listen-through and AMA tomorrow 9/2 at 8pm EDT live on Bancamp.
"Cycle Meditation Martyr and the Double Time Effect on Entropy" marks a period of fluidity and amorphous existence for me. While experimenting with a new collection of instruments, I was listening to a great deal of Sufi Qawwali music and kept returning to a definition of rhythm: “a moment in time, repeated.” The phrasing is significant to me because it leaves intentionality ambiguous. A moment in time, repeated—is the repetition incidental or intentional?
These tracks are well suited to soundbathing intense moments of focus and concentration. Rhythms loop and cycle, but I do not find repetition mundane. It can manifest in a grey area between repeat and ritual. A loop lasts until it is ended, carrying with it an inherent anticipation of when that ending might come, and how. Slightly adjacent to the loop is the cycle, which to me suggests not symmetrical repetition, but rounds that can evolve.

Hello all.
How would you arrange my DAWless setup on my desk? I’d love some suggestions on the best placement of each piece of gear for a clean setup and efficient workflow.

Hey everyone! Here’s a short 2-minute French Touch / French House dawless jam I put together.
Roland MC-707: Handling all the heavy disco-house drum sequencing, sample chops, and master bus compression smashing it all together
Arturia MiniFreak: Synthesizing the filtered bassline layer and some patches were sampled into the 707 played on a drum track for sample chips.
Kept everything hardware-only with zero DAWs or software plugins. Would love feedback on the mix, should I build this into a full track?

I hope of living a more adventurous life. I have managed to lose the green little cap on the right knob.. which means that I will effectively either give you a really cool knob if you want one or will send you the knob once I find it as it has fallen behind my library shelf…
300 USD+shippin via PayPal g&s. Will ship to lower 48. Buyer covers shipping, which won’t be much..

How does one route a synth, guitar setup, e-drums into a single audio interface? I’m leaving my DAW as a composition tool and going back to a basic “band” setup. I don’t want to have to be plugging in and out constantly disrupting the workflow, so I’m guessing a basic mixer is the solution? I’m horrible at this kind of stuff obviously so just looking for some clarification. Thanks in advance 🙏

Hey everyone!
I’m the bassist and producer for a project called Sad Pony Girl.
(spotify)
Up until now, I’ve been using Ableton Live running backing tracks, native VSTs, and some of my favorite plugins (UA, etc.). A couple of years ago, I decided to dive into hardware sampling just out of fascination and picked up a Roland SP-404mkII to experiment on my own.
Playing live with the band, switching between different Ableton project files during gigs became a real hassle. To streamline things, I decided to bounce and master all our backing tracks and load them directly as long samples into the SP-404. That stripped down my laptop workflow significantly: I ended up using Ableton in live shows solely as a VST host with a single master live set where I just switched patches.
Meanwhile, for my solo jam sessions, I kept adding gear to the table: a Korg Volca Sample (originally as a portable drum machine), an Elektron Model:Cycles for FM grooves/sequencing, and most recently, an Arturia AstroLab 37.
That’s when the lightbulb went off: "Hey, why not go 100% DAWless for the band's live set too?"
I started designing a versatile audio, MIDI, and power routing layout that I can easily pack up and use both for Sad Pony Girl live shows and my solo synth/sampling jams. I’m attaching my routing diagram to this post!
The goal is to build a compact, tidy, and fast-to-rig setup, keeping cable clutter to a minimum while routing all audio outputs and MIDI clock sync cleanly into an audio interface (UA Volt 4).
Since our live show structure relies on the backing tracks pre-loaded on the sampler, the SP-404MKII acts as the MIDI Master Clock:
All gear (including the Volt 4) is powered by a dedicated power strip mounted under/behind the desktop to prevent ground loops and AC noise.
I’d love to get your thoughts on this diagram:
Thanks a lot! Happy jamming!

I'm a hobbyist so I just make music to have fun and express myself.
I mainly use a digitakt 2 but find it super fun because I can just LFO anything and get some crazy results. Random p locks also creates interesting results.
What piece of gear is most fun to you?
