It's been a year since my last post of the World Class logos made out of perler beads on my wall!

Pretty sure this is gonna be an annual thing for me and I'll have them organized from their placement on finals/semi finals.

Now they've been updated and I made the Spartans' logo this year! (I'm actually quite happy with how that came out)

At the Battalion we tune to A=442. I have a relative who marched at Crown and they also tune to A=442. Is this a standard in DCI? I’m also aware that Btal staff marched Legends and Legends staff marched Crown which could explain them sharing the tuning pitch

How would you go about taking off a patch from a Corps Jacket? Will the process damage the jacket itself? I want to rearrange where some of patches are but they are already on the jacket so I want to know if it's worth it.

For those who don't know, the governaires are celebrating their 100th!!! Anniversary in 2027. They are the oldest active Drum and Bugle corps in the world. It would be a shame for DCI to not commemorate this anniversary...

Plus it would fill that large amount of time while We're waiting for finals retreat to line up.

I might be very wrong, but something seemed very off about the graphic used for the props in the Blue Stars show this year. To me, the frame part of the prop seems a little muddy and unclear, almost like it was ai. This isn't accusing them of using ai, I was just wondering because it seems that I am the only person to have thought this.

I've seen the infamous Boston 22 video at Allentown where one side of the company front was set up on the wrong hash, but are there any other known videos of this happening? Other than falling over, I feel like it's probably one of the scariest things that can happen to you during a show

Hi guys, I just finished up an amazing season with Carolina Gold DBC. I'm looking forward to auditions this year at Spirit of Atlanta, but I feel like I lack visually, and technique-wise when it comes to marching. I'm not going to be disappointed if I'm cut, because no matter what I'm getting the experience of an audition. But I'm determined to wear the delta this season.

I'm looking for materials/general advice as to what can help me improve. I've just been unsure about what exercises help and what exercises might not be the best for me. I feel like I can do a lot with 2 months, and I'm going to put in the effort to hopefully make the horn line!

I’m trying to explain why you can’t roll through on straight leg- but i suppose I don’t actually know/have the words.

I feel like it’s just harder for the body and makes the technique break down since you’re not able to use your platform to push in a new direction. Instead all of your energy gets absorbed into your heel/the ground. Thoughts?

Hey guys asking for a friend here what’s some good practice techniques/general audition advice for someone auditioning for a dci world class corps who hasn’t been in a competition band before. I’ve marched for about 7 years in 3 different schools all with different styles and I’m going into my senior year of high school this year. I auditioned for the bluecoats last year because they’re the corps closest to me and I was hit in the face with how behind I was in my marching and visual skills. I’ve been running box drills and warmups I remember from last years audition camp all summer but was wondering if there was anything else I could do to have a better shot of making it. I wanna show back up to audition camp with as much improvement as possible so any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I would love to see scores based on 25 points Brass, 25 points Percussion, 25 Points Guard, 20 Points GE, 5 points Props/Electronics/non brass instruments.

I don't know how electronics are judged. But it needs to be done. You're using an audio recording. If it messed up, it should be a deduction. I'm not sure whether Props count as part of GE.

Out of the Box, there should be an app that lets the audience score a show. You log in, and it only works for that show at that time. You can't log in to say Sevierville and Jersey City and vote for a corps at both shows.

...is when the arrangers put a piece of music into B flat when the original was in a totally doable key, just for the sake of B flat. Not talking about something that was in C sharp minor or B natural, but like 1 or 2 steps on the Circle of Fifths away from B flat.

I think about 2 shows when I say this: Carolina Crown 2010 and Bluecoats 2019, both solid and well performed shows. The main parts of Mahler 2 used are in C Minor and E flat Major, and they put those in B flat minor and B flat Major, which totally changes the character of those movements. And Hey Jude is in F! Why did they need to transpose that?

I'm not saying the arrangements or arrangers are bad. I've been a fan for a while but admittedly havent arranged for or marched with a drum corps, so there's probably many reasons I don't know besides "that's the key the horns are in" It just irks me a bit. Idk, Is it just me?

I've been using Earasers for as long as I can remember, but am thinking of switching beacuse they never seem to quite fit like I want them to. What are some good brands/recommendations?
