I just got my radiomaster pocket and am waiting to get the 18650 batteries tomorrow. Then my journey begins. Going to practice in the sim a month or so before I get a drone. Can't wait!

Pointing out that you can set a sim profile on the radio where you turn off the elrs. Also that you can play the sim while both data and power usb are plugged in.

Thanks for the tip! I've been a bit concerned as to what all I need to do with the radio before actually getting going. Hoping I (an idiot) can sort it out quickly! So much to learn with the hobby, it's over-whelming but good fun learning!

OscarLiang.com is this hobbies go to website for all the guides on like everything. Bookmark it because you’ll probably need it often if you are like me. There is a lot of new stuff to learn but most of it isn’t too complicated. Just new. Then there is understanding PIDs (I’m starting down this road now), lua scripting, hella nerdy stuff.

Thanks so much, mate! I've bookmarked the site. Been watching a lot of yt videos and learned a lot but still just scratching the surface. I've never even soldered before so everything is new to me. I'm enjoying it and can't wait to build a 5" down the road.

eh you cant do much wrong with a solid tinywhoop. I bet you could lift off way sooner
I hurt that tinyhawk in so many ways till i finally managed to crash into a bucket of water -lol- which was the only thing that actually damaged it

Looking at a tinywhoop for a first drone. Eventually would like a 5". It may even be spring before I get one though. Figuring out which to get along with goggles and all will take me some time. So much to learn as a beginner. Just knew I wanted to start getting time in some of the sims so I went ahead and got the radio.

i was thinking to transform the emax e8 and the screen into some sort of Nintendo switch style transmitter

I love the Boxer. It's the perfect size for a radio for me. Not too heavy and the upgraded gimbals are fantastic.

I harvested the switches from my e8 to use in my pocket instead of those shitty mushy shoulder buttons.
