Big accident near the river path?

Upvotes

I was biking on the river path tonight and saw a huge cluster of emergency vehicles (wish I knew the exact location, somewhere between downtown and the victoria health centre, much closer to the former). Saw a car flipped over and another one on the bike path surrounded by several cops. Anyone know what happened?

I'm curious about the local biker gangs, what do you know?

Upvotes

I've heard a few things, but none very recent. Does anyone know anything?

Fredericton Wargaming Society - Sept 6th, 2026

We are a small group of people who like to play tabletop wargames (minis, hex-and-counter, you name it). We meet once a month at the Fredericton Inn, in Salon E.

We are meeting this Sunday, September 6th, from 9am to 5pm. If you are a longtime wargamer, a curious newcomer, or anything in between, please feel free to join us. Each month I pick a theme in order to encourage some lesser-played things off of people's shelves. This month our theme is "The Blade Itself". Anything with a sword in it is fair game, from a gladius to a lightsaber. I'm going to be playing GMT's Sekigahara, about the short campaign and decisive battle that established the Tokugawa Shogunate (and is at the end of James Clavell's Shogun, if you enjoyed the book or miniseries).

Last month our theme was "New Brunswick" (because of New Brunswick Day). I don't have many wargames that include NB in some way, but pictured is Churchill, which features Lord Beaverbrook, and Bayonets & Tomahawks, which, as far as I know is the only wargame which features Fredericton as a space (under it's previous name, Pointe Saint-Anne which was raided and burned down by British/American Rangers)

There's no charge to attend, although I recommend dropping by our discord and arranging a game ahead of time to lower the chances you show up and find everyone already in a game.

Tennis Ball Machine Repair Recommendations?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know of a shop, or maybe someone local, who could take a look at a tennis ball machine that suddenly stopped working?

I already replaced the battery, which seemed like the most likely cause, but unfortunately that didn’t fix it.

I’m based in Fredericton, but I’d be willing to drive an hour or even further if needed.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for patient and kind driving instructor, any recs?

I’ve been putting it off for way too long. My first driving instructor tried to feel me up when I was a wee thing and it left me very nervous to attempt driving again. I’d like to conquer my fear with a capable and kind instructor! Any local recommendations?

Hi friends!

I'm going to be hosting this park swap on the holiday Monday Sept 7th at Wilmot Park near the corner of Saunders and Rookwood!

The flyer here explains it all, but feel free to comment if you have any questions on what to bring/what's allowed. If you don't have anything to contribute, that's OK! It's free, and a way to get rid of stuff you no longer need/ find some preloved treasures!

Litter at Dunbar Falls

Post image
50 Upvotes

We took the trail to Dunbar Falls from Canada St. yesterday afternoon. We were pretty disappointed to see a lot of litter along the way and at the waterfall itself. Picked up what we could but there was some left as we didn’t think to bring a garbage bag with us. We can all do better than this to enjoy natural landmarks while also showing respect to our environment and community 🌱

Forest School Options

What are the forest school options in Fredericton, Oromocto & area? We've been trying to contact Acorn to Oak Academy since last October but haven't heard back and the number listed doesn't work.

I know about Cedarbrook but likes the A to O part time options.

Gym/Run Buddy

47F, I moved here three years ago (am Nova Scotian), looking for a gym or running buddy. I am an absolute beginner, and starting a significant weight loss journey (down 46lbs so far).

Looking for someone who’s in a similar place maybe and we can be buddies to help stay motivated. DM me if that might be you.

Have you spent time in New Brunswick’s care system?

Hi everyone! I’m currently working on a project centred around the voices and experiences of people who have lived in New Brunswick’s care system. As someone with lived experience in the NB care system myself, this is something that is very close to my heart, and I would love to hear from others who have experienced it too.

I’d love to know what you wish the people and systems responsible for supporting you had known or understood — whether that’s government, social workers, group home staff, foster parents, lawyers, schools, or anyone else who had a hand in your life and the lives of other vulnerable young people in care.

What worked? What didn’t? What do you wish they had done differently? What do you think people working with youth in care need to understand?

Feel free to share in the replies, or send me a DM if you’d rather not share your experiences publicly. You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with.

I’d really love to hear from you 💌

Is there a junkyard around here where I can buy junk?

Car parts are fine but I'm mostly looking for odds and ends for art purposes. I'm a bit too shy to go and ask and I haven't found any good info online

This beloved stuffy fell out of my car at McDonalds on prospect Street today. The staff saw if there 30 minutes ago and my spouse has gone to find it without any luck. If anyone has picked it up, please message me. My daughter is gutted.

old lady on escooter

watch out for an old lady on an escooter downtown.

she just harassed my bf and his brother while they were skateboarding, and grabbed my bf neck hard enough to leave red marks/almost draw blood.
