gamer boycotts only work if you're LADS players

u/ThingComplex6788 7h ago

this blue archive controversy is really far from worse compare to LADS controvesy

smh BA and Hoyo Community should learn thing or two from LADS community

13

u/sukahati 7h ago

Why they (Hoyo or specifically Genshin Community) should boycotting though? There is not enough reason enraged them and most people in the community ignoring the boycotters.

well personally i don't have reason to boycott it just the community seems very eager to boycott since natlan, maybe they need to learn thing or two from LADS, just saying

16

u/AdSuch3472 6h ago

that would only actually be successful boycott for genshin if the CN bros are the one who will do the boycott

but for those in the twittards and reddit over skin color and "mAh RepResENtatiON" or culture appropriation BS in natlan?! lmao that amounts to nothing lol 😂

wouldn't know it if those people hasn't try it yet, maybe those people can try using same method as LADS boycott to see it 😉

13

u/Kagari1998 6h ago

because the people boycotting LADS actually pay and play the game?

Like majority of the Genshin "boycotters" are basically larpers LMAO, like not even a dent in the revenue.

nah, i believe with big heart that those people just don't know how to boycott. for example the twitter account that advocate to boycott genshin literally show their pulls result while supposed to be boycotting.

i firmly believed that they just need to learn how to do proper boycott like LADS. for example like uninstalling and stop playing then they might produce some result 😉

Reminds of a daily Scaramouche account calling for a boycott and then making a post about playing the game when he was getting story content.

We would know because we have brains and eyes, lmao. If all those whining people on twitter and reddit joined forces and 100% of them boycotted Genshin would only lose 0.01% of the players. They are that insignificant.

F2P boycott VS paying costumer boycott. That's the difference.

u/Invertbird77 7h ago

genshin boyycot back then was stupid anyway, iirc had something to do with race or something, and character appearance.

Any actual real player wouldnt care about it, just toursit who got some agenda who did.

star rail is tanking fwiw. I'm just waiting for them to officially butcher nihilux before uninstalling.

or you actually have a brain and notice that the new system is actually better than the old one

I was devastated for a few days after the announcement to the point of losing sleep, after calculating the rate myself and writing down the worst-case scenario, I found out that the average pulling experience should be better.

The point is, the backlash was warranted. I still lost a few days worth of sleep lol.

it's mainly GL who is boycotting, JP mostly fine still

13

u/Invertbird77 7h ago

in JP, not even close. they are very big there with lot of comiket entries, fanart, merchs, ads, and collabs. plus new system actually make it better for spenders to spend.

GL might be impacted more tho, with lot of doomposting.

lol, they recently revealed new students and everyone went crazy

3

u/ConsiderationFit27 6h ago

Everyone forgot about the boycott as soon as the new students revealed

Revenue dropped a lot compared to prior anniversary. While S.Ibuki and S.Iroha are both less popular and strong meta wise than prior anniv units, the gacha changes definitely also played a major role.

u/cuntzman Princess Connect Re:Dive 7h ago

Despite the addition of 50/50 and the removal of spark, the changes were actually cheaper for whales/dolphins overall

7

u/anondum 7h ago

the previous gacha system wasn't good either. I think the biggest reason for the change was the numbers were not adding up anymore, I don't play anymore because there was an obvious decline in quality in the last year or two and nexongames(not nexon) was posting losses.

Adding some context: the JP client got a PC port with the Yostar payment portal 7 months ago.

3

u/Invertbird77 7h ago

ah so they got even more revenue that included here? Damn nice

It dipped, but no way it dying, this is the lowest jp anni month since launch(not counting first year). But yeah, Jp and Kr have slowly accept that by number it should be better in the long run

It dropped, and so far, it’s the FES with the lowest revenue; while it’s not exactly a death knell, it’s hardly surprising that BA is seeing declining earnings. Revenues have been dropping for a couple of years now due to various factors, and it’s become nearly impossible for them to return to the glory days—like the Mika or Rio banners, which were absolute frenzies.

With the low score and negative comment of playstore/steam it will surely and slowly dead since most new player would just steer clear of it.

As a 3years+ player almost platinum every TA/PVP I already stopped playing for a month and waiting for Muv-Luv Girl Gaiden/Astraea Ostrario/Chasing KaleidoRider/Silver Palace as my next cozy game
