This is mobile gacha revenue though, people will mostly likely play OG Arknights on mobile than pc, and Endfield on pc than mobile. But yea, still wild. Probably people was pushed away by the gacha mechanics?
I don't remember the source, but I'm sure I read that the majority plays on PC and consoles, the mobile experience is ass unless you have a very beefy and expensive tablet (which most people lack), in a normal phone is almost unplayable.
I have a beefy, expensive tablet and I haven't been able to play it at Ultra since the 2.3 patch. I can log in and do dailies, but that's about it. Questing is fiddly and janky to do.
I have a beefy, expensive phone and I removed the game because it looks and plays terrible.
my own experience is that i'm playing AK a lot more on PC with the new client but i'm too lazy to reinput my payment info for PC so i'm continuing to buy on mobile
I think it's a combination of focus on factory, 50/50 and convoluted rules and that the gacha system discourages gambling by kinda forcing you to save enough for 120 pulls unless you spend.
I spend quite a bit in Endfield and NTE and my experience playing both of those, they're actually not that bad each actually does reward you around the same amount of value, but Endfield's system feels worse as you're punished for just throwing a few rolls here and there since there is no carry over on the 120 guarantee.
But when i buy stuff i do it on my PC for both of those games i don't do it on my phone.
I was pushed away by factory mechanics, it was fun when I was unemployed, but then I ended up with a higher stress job and the factory stuff just became too much of a hassle + people constantly saying "if you don't like it then quit" so I did lol
Frankly, you don't really need to spend much in Endfield to have alot of fun. Many support based effects are dual element and a number of operators work in a number of different teams. Moreover, I reckon a large number of EF players main other games and use their funds there.
There is legitimately no incentive to spend besides pulling for aesthetics and small power ups relative to other 3d gacha games that you don't use anywhere besides max max risk contingency contract. And everything works for clearing endgame, literally everything, 0 squeezing of the playerbase.
Great news for f2p, bad news for the monthly spreadsheet.
This is becoming more and more common and is making this list more and more irrelevant. People love to use this list as a sort of gospel book. Right now it's hard to tell what is actually outperforming the rest globally when it's only related to one platform.
That is what we call "mobile bias" which you need to learn before understanding how to use this chart properly. For people who think Genshin made less overall money than FGO last month, I have a bridge to sell you.
Best part? They're still nerfing themselves. They brought HI3rd and ZZZ to Steam, which only boisters getting eyes on it and players in it. They still haven't brought Genshin there. Which basically means they don't think it's worth it yet. Genshin is making so much money and has a big enough playerbase they can afford to say no to Steam, at least for now.
Keep in mind several AAA studios tried to do so, and though a lot of them still have a mess where you have to be logged into both Steam AND their proprietary launcher, maybe even some other crap too, and can't play it if any of those are missing? They had to come back.
PC-friendly gacha (although its only enfield and ww) devs say their pc revenue is more than 60% of their sales. For genshin lets make that 50% since its old and demand less hardware than the newer ones.
Whoa, that's a massive jump in revenue! I'd say due to anniversary, but didn't it happen the previous month...? Time is an illusion, I dunno anymore. 😂
For Infinity Nikki, the game runs badly in most phones. Plus, in my experience, it's cheaper to buy from the top-up website than phone (no Google Play, yay!), so most people probably do top-up from the website. But also, the previous patch was LONG, while the current patch gives free 100 pulls, so perhaps a lot of people spent in the beginning of the patch but not last month.
Infinity nikki is so limited on what outfits they can add because the cn community does not want nikki to show any cleavage or wear anything sexy. Why play a fashion game where you can only where ballgowns with modesty panels?
That's just not really the kind of game it is and not the audience that it's for, but there are more revealing outfits in the game. The character herself isn't really designed to be "sexy," but the fashion is definitely not just limited to ballgowns.
My main outfit right now makes her look like a badass goth chick with fishnets which is pretty great. My wife has lots of cool stuff on her account too.
The CN community is very prudish though.

Everyone forgot they released a swimsuit two months ago that could be dyed to look much more skimpy than it actually is and Infold didn’t do anything about censoring it

Its a minority of the CN community
Infold didn’t do anything about how you can dye the swimsuit to look much more naked than it actually is or how you can dye certain dresses like Born Flawless to look like its showing more skin.

Shining Nikki beating out Infinity Nikki is kind of wild.
