I don't know what enfield is doing wrong. Its a good game. But arknights is doing way better, maybe the market just isn't there for the 3d version, even with great graphics and weighty animations, much nicer stat systems than other gatchas, decent character and weapon banner.

And id say the story and boss fights are pretty solid.

Also before people say mobile sales, wuwa and zzz are way worse optimised on mobile and pc. I had no issues playing enfield on mobile.

Edit combat isn't great though but its no worse than NTE.

The story is ass, basically has every problem Wuwa has except character count in scenes improved. The factory gameplay is incompatible with the Genshin-style partial rollout of a region overtime, as you constantly have to just scrap everything and start over. Event gameplay variety is lacking. Also, factory building on anything except KB+M is a nightmare.

It does a lot wrong.

Fair enough but People really liked the most recent story chapter and i mean the main story not the idol one. And thr boss was awesome.

I critasize the rest of the story as much as anyone. But the most recent one wasn't bad it was really character focused.

It depends, the last patch was the point where a chunk of my friends decided they were going to drop the game at least semi permanently.

It was just more of what they already disliked about Endfield, the introduction of an actual big bad evil society of sorts and nothing of substance in the way of sociopolitics has them convinced that Endfield isn't going to be handling the same type of themes and storylines that they play Arknights for

Why do you think being "character focused" means it isn't bad?

Because its not just about the mc and the greater plot its about actually fleshing out the story with meangfull interactions.

Stories mean nothing without soldi motivation.

What motivation? The bad guys did a little dance and then fucked off to another planet.

Motivation to protect there people and land. And to reconcile with the characters trauma.

They are moving to another planet. What "land?" What "people?" They were basically rest stops in the story for an uninteresting MC.

Yea but if you care about the character then you care about what haleness to the land and people around them its nothing to do with the mc. Its to do with the new characters.

Dont see why thats not understandable, you can say its not good for a long term gatcha game but its still how storytelling works.

This next part is an analogy:

No-one cares that kripton exploded we care that clark Kent is distressed by it.

Talos-II didn't explode. It just got discarded as a setting because it is boring. Thoron was an almost identical planet to Krypton and you didn't mention it because no one gives a fuck about Thoron. Endmin isn't even "distressed" about Talos-II. People just tell Endmin they should be distressed about it.

I’m not talking about endmin and I'm not talking about a place exploding. Its called analogy you use it to express an idea not create an exact comparison. In this case someone you like loosing something feels bad so that is that consequence that makes you care about the story.

not sure why i have to keep mentioning its not about the MC, I'm talking about arkane and some of the new characters in the new region.

I think Wuwa's story has been pretty good for a while now but to each their own.

It certainly has not. It has all the same issues as the first year. The setting is extremely shallow with everything somehow being propagated by Rover or The Lament, with a possibility of Rover being connected to the propagation of The Lament as well. That means every story somehow ends up leading to Rover or Lament without variety.

Furthermore, the setting is so boring and restrictive that the writer frequently have to dump characters into a mind realm or another type of arbitrarily isolated space to give the character "backstory" because it is impossible to do in the actual setting. The current update does this again.

In fact, there have been no characters in the past year that did not either have a backstory subspace segment or past connected to Rover. Sometimes both. It is just outright impossible for the writers to actually write anything happening in the world and these characters when shackled to such an underdeveloped setting. The game has the writing quality of a mediocre Qidian novel series.

Fair enough. Maybe I just expect less from my gachas. Never thought about any of that stuff.
