I don't know what enfield is doing wrong. Its a good game

People get turned off by the factory, turned off by the combat, the fact that there have been multiple filler patches already isn't great, people don't really like the story, the gacha system kinda blows

The gacha system is great, it just isn’t good for gambling addicts who like to “build pity”.

If you can resist the addiction and pull for characters when you have the resources you’re better off than in most other similar gacha (think NTE is better though).

Yeah no, it's not great. The average ends up being about the same as other games with 50/50s, the difference being that you can lose 2 50/50s early since there's no guarantee after you lose one. And if you pull a character early, now you're screwed on their signature because there's no good methods to get Arsenal pulls outside of pulling.

NTE's system is currently the best out of the "major" gachas. No 50/50, relatively decent rates, no 120 pull guarantee, weapon banner pulls come from an in-game currency that isn't tied to the character gacha. I got A6 Shinku + all her accessories in 192 pulls, that's not happening without obscene luck in other games

Except you have 3 whole banners to get their signature weapons, so that’s a crock of shit and lets also put this into perspective…

How do you get a signature weapon in Genshin (or similar game)? You have to use your premium pull currency… the same one you use for characters. So if you want the luxury that is the signature weapon you have to reduce the characters you can get (assuming F2P).

While the weapon currency in Endfield can be annoying, in the end they’re essentially free… although you can convert paid currency into pulls (not really worth it). It’s like people have somehow convinced themselves that you should expect to get every signature weapon, when they wouldn’t have that expectation for any other game.

And yeah I agree, NTE does do it better.

Fun fact, there's a middle ground between Genshin's weapon banner and Endfield's. It's called NTE's! You'll need all 3 banners to get a sig because going to 120 pulls doesn't give you enough for their sig either, because the system blows. It wouldn't be bad if there were other methods beyond pulling to get a reasonable amount, but there isn't. So the system's bad. Not even talking about how it's a 25/75 in favor of not getting the weapon.

I know it's hard seeing a dissenting opinion outside of the Endfield sub safespace where they ban anyone who doesn't glaze the game to death, but the system still isn't good and it turns new players off whether it did to you or not.

There is, but where is all the freaking out over Genshins system? Or Girls Frontline or literally any other game with weapons?

Why is this issue seemingly solely called out in Endfield?

Because the other games are par-for-the-course garbage. Nobody glazes the systems because they're clearly bad, but discussion's been done to death.

Endfield players are the sole group who will get this defensive over someone thinking their weapon banner is garbage, everyone else will just look at you and say "yeah you're right." I'm not continuing this """"discussion"""" though, I have better things to do with my time. You're gonna keep glazing the system, I'm going to keep saying it's not as good as you think it is, and nobody's going to get anywhere

You do have 3 banners to get the signature, but that's dependent on your luck in those 3 banners and if you were going to pull on the 3 characters anyways. It ultimately leads back into the Gacha Aspects because if you do get lucky with the Character Early on but not the weapon, you either spend on the next banner to get enough pulls to get the 1st character's sig, or spend 29 of the premium currency you can get and get their 2nd best weapon in the Battle Pass. (even if it is obtainable for free, you still got to make sure you keep 29 at all times otherwise you will have to pay the difference)

In theory both systems are better, but that is under the assumption you are following the rules of at least having enough to guarantee the 120 pulls in the worst case scenario, and accept that there is a reality where you'll have to get by using weaker weapons if you are strictly F2P. It's a very good Gacha system, but it doesn't feel good because you can get screwed either way depending on your luck.

Of course it’s dependent on luck, every gacha is dependent on luck at some level.

Like don’t get me wrong, if the complaint was “all gacha systems suck” then i’d agree whole heartedly… Gacha inherently sucks, it’s just to different degrees. I just find it odd how Endfield in particular is set apart in its weapon gacha, in terms of how people make out its the absolute worst.

I think your last sentence is pretty spot on, the gacha system doesn’t necessarily feel good. Especially if you’re used to Hoyo-games and the concept of “building pity” or something.

I can’t speak to the experience of purely F2P, as I tend to buy the battlepass and occasionally the monthly pass (I normally forget to buy it). But i’ve found myself with more characters and weapons for a lower monetary cost than I have had with other games.
