Nope May scores lowest with less than 5 million when there was no new character for a whole month, but this time there was a new character and it does only slightly better so you can see the playerbase really has dropped ever since then.

I want to get back into it but I just feel like it would be really annoying having to redo the factory a bunch

Yeah its annoying, they have to make the factory completely optional or many people will continue to have a hard time coming back.

Even to do blueprints you need to have a bunch of x and y materials that you get from factory, so its not really a great option.

The amount of parts you need to make factory buildings is very small, even very basic setups can easily produce what you need there. Like you can cludge together something or copy an older blueprint and youll have plenty soon enough.
