and they can tell whatever they want. it just makes not economical sense. since the own Vtubers activelly playing and pulling on the game is the biggest marketing of the game.
ofc they won't tell you if they get free pulls. They need to maintain the illusion. is a fucking idol company. with their own idol game.
they get told what they can and cannot say. i like vtubers too but please dont believe they are any less corporate than a korean idol. is a job and they have bosses.
But they do tell us though. Some of the girls mention they get a monthly allowance from the game devs. It's not enough to do some the crazy rolls some of them have done though. If you watched the streams a lot of them have to cover the screen to buy more gems. You also had someone like Hajime only buy the cheapest one since her iPad account wouldn't let her buy more. Her chat was making fun of her saying she's a baby that has parental control on her account.
The girls have mentioned many times that they're aren't forced to do or say anything. A lot of them say some wild shit and a handful of them have been very critical about the company and management. Calli went on full strike earlier this year because of manngement.
Don't know why people think that Cover controls them like puppets. Yeah they're a corpo, and there's some restrictions but some people see the word Idol and think that they can't cough without approval from higher ups.
Absolutely every statement a corporate vtuber makes was vetted by corporate. Yes, even the rabid horny posting on Twitter is part of the character the actress signed up to play. New talents help develop the concept for the characters (they audition and get hired months before debut), but they are playing a character.
It's wild that people don't understand this. Those contracts are iron clad, there's no way they're allowed to make public statements, in-character as a rep of the company, that aren't vetted by corporate.
They can say they're given free reign all they want - saying that is almost certainly part of the contract too.
When you hear about a vTuber being reprimanded or terminated for "damaging trust" or "harming the image of the company", it means they said shit without permission.
Holy conspiracy theorist. Yes they can, they are not nearly as strict as you imagining. Especially to these normal daily life shit.
Also show me an example of a Hololive vtuber getting reprimanded or terminated for "damaging trust" or "harming the image of the company". Talents did complain about the company on stream multiple times and nothing happened to them.
You clearly don't know shit, so don't act like you do

I mean, Rushia was terminated for "spreading falsehoods to 3rd parties". Except, the only proof we have of anything in particular being false is from people with a vested interest in that being the case.

Why would you believe that? It's not a conspiracy theory to think that a company would exert control over how their characters are used? You think Disney lets their mascot actors say and do whatever they want while in the suit? And why would Hololive be different?
I don't understand why consumers bend over backward to assume Hololive is different or better than any other corporation.
Businesses are not your friend. They are there to make money.
You clearly don't know shit, so don't act like you do
You're clearly some gooner who has dumped too much money on some vtuber and is living the sunk cost fallacy.
I mean, Rushia was terminated for "spreading falsehoods to 3rd parties".
Rushia was terminated for a lot of violation behind the scene. Including providing doxxes of other talents to 3rd parties
Why would you believe that? It's not a conspiracy theory to think that a company would exert control over how their characters are used?
Because it doesn't make any sense? Yes there is control, no one is denying that. Doesn't mean EVERYTHING is being controlled like you are making it out to be. Like i already said, talents can and did talk shit about the company and nothing fucking happened. This is not fucking NASA Area 51
You're clearly some gooner who has dumped too much money on some vtuber and is living the sunk cost fallacy.
I've never donated a cent to vtubers. But that's irrelevant. You are clearly some paranoid conspiracy theorist that think the world is ran by reptile people or some shit.
uhhh no rushia did spread falsehoods according to Cover, but the specific reason she was fired was multiple NDA violations, over a period of time, and the fact of those NDA violations aren't in contest, even you acknowledge it, the person who received them (a dramastreamer) acknowledged it, he showed the texts too, and specifically mentioned he received info so sensitive (possibly unintentionally while she was sending other things, such as unintentionally giving him access to talent discord logs of other talents/names of employees while attempting to share her own), that he couldn't show it on stream cause he could be charged criminally in Japan.
Basically you are accusing everyone of lying, even the drama streamer himself agreeing with Cover's story.
got a notification cuz you guys fighting under my comment, anyway my two cents.
Your Oshi's definitely are getting false currency into their accounts to make pulls, no doubt about it. Its like saying my fav ytuber made a sponsered video but still used his credit card to pull on the banner. It doesn't make sense. Even if they are spending their money like crazy, its for the clicks.
They are part of a fucking company and operate like one. Ofcourse there is autonomy in there actions but they aren't what they are on the screen. They are essentially acting 24/7. They are finely made personas made for money.
Your Oshi's definitely are getting false currency into their accounts to make pulls, no doubt about it.
Yes and they've confirmed that. They have a monthly allowance specifically for the game. But the allowance is limited. Most of them don't spend beyond the allowance, but a few of them do and that's why you only hear of a couple members overspending, not literally all of them
Yeah you are the same as him. Bunch of conspiracy theorists. Gacha streamers got sponsored and still spend their own money on the side too all the time. Nothing different. They are people too
They're personas the same way streamer's have personas. Some are more heavy on the kayfabe than others, but To call it totally acting is overselling it, lets have nuance like adults here.
Then they sure can tell a hell of a lot considering how many complain about the company's management
They spend literal hours on stream, every day, talking. Sometimes up to twelve hours. Many times way into the hours past midnight and into the next morning. Do you really think they have staff whispering in their ears the whole time, and maintain strict adherence to draconian "character" requirements for those tens of thousands of hours that add up over years?
IRL K-idols or even J-idols spend an hour or two every couple days at best speaking to the public in events or a broadcast, in person, with staff fully present. This is not the case with streamers
Because the public faces of other companies DON'T spend tens of thousands of hours talking to the public. Remember Reggie from Nintendo? He only showed up once every couple months to talk, despite being the face of Nintendo of America. Even Disney mascots at the parks only work in like 2 hour shifts, with plenty of oversight.
Hololive members are confirmed to be contractors, not employees. It's why they can randomly stream at 3AM in the morning when the salaried employees (management) are all asleep and off the clock
It's straight up impossible to maintain that sort of draconian control like you're suggesting over that long a period of time. Literally every other industry cracks under less, ESPECIALLY the idol industry, where eventually you see the "reality" exposed at some point. Actor scandals, idol scandals, and the like. The only way to avoid that, is if what you're seeing is already the "reality" (for the most part).
Or are you suggesting Hololive somehow has some sort of perfect secret ironclad control method over their idols that no other industry has managed to replicate to the same degree of success, despite Hololive members being public facing an order of magnitude more often than others?
Yes there are things they cannot talk about. Mostly politics. But they don't have an earpiece telling them what they should be saying, or even just having every single word they say be vetted. They do have a strict banlist, and another suggestion list of topics to avoid (relationships), but that's about it. The only exceptions would be company held events or for sponsorships (which are legally disclosed if they are), in which case oversight would be more strict.
It must suck to be as jaded as you. This isn't true at all. Sure they have guidelines but they also have plenty of freedom to make their own content and generate their own fanbase.

dont underestimate hololive fans, they've been dumping money to these girls even before the game
