It peed and pooped on my hand. Don't know if it was asleep or blindsided by a lamp, i caught easily and it didn't like it šŸ˜…

I love their eyes šŸ‘šŸ‘

How long do you think i have left to live after their bite? 🤭

(Don't worry. I released it on my plants outside where are a lot of delicious bugs to eat)

Help/Advice what do i do with him

Post image

sorry for low quality pic, he ran off before i could take a better one. found this guy hanging around on my wall before hiding inside(?) my doorframe. i looked up what geckos are in turkey and found out its most likely a mediterrenean house gecko, native to where i live. my dad says he probably lives in a little crevice in my room and gets out at night to hunt bugs. i did have a silverfish problem before this guy appeared. can i just leave him there to do his thing? will he survive like this or should i get him outside? i dont wanna like harm him by accident or leave him to die. does he need any help from me?

šŸ¦ŽJust for FunšŸ¦Ž Saw this little guy in my hotel room in Barcelona!

I named him (or her) Michael after the song Me and Michael by MGMT because my boyfriend showed me a funny video that was set to that song and then it played at my cousins wedding which was right before I saw the little fella….

When my boyfriend first saw him kinda skittering around, he thought he might have been a cockroach, but no! He was just a little guy!

I was advised not to show this picture to my grandmother who was staying at the same hotel (sound advice).

Help/Advice Advice on what Gecko to get?

Hello all! I'm here to ask advice on what type of gecko I should get. This will be my first reptile, and I have put in extensive research, but I also thought it would be wise to ask others with more experience. I am currently undecided as to wether i should get a Leopard gecko or a Chahoua gecko. I know these are vastly different species, but I would be fine with an arboreal or terrestrial gecko, and I have the space for either. Here are the main questions I have:

-which is more personable? I'm looking for something that will tolerate being out of its enclosure relatively well, as well as have a good personality, although I know it differs between individual geckos. I assume Leopard geckos would win this one, but just wanted to ask.

-Which is more cost effective to care for (not including the original cost, I could afford either of the two options i listed)? I wouldn't be buying a lizard if I couldn't afford to care for it, but I'm just looking for how much Y'all spend on your geckos yearly. I'm young and want to budget myself accordingly.

-Do either of those lizards have any odor? I know that neglecting to clean up after them will cause an odor, but do the geckos themselves inherently smell? My reptile reluctant parents will NOT be on board with a stinky creature and I want to respect that lol.

-How sensitive to changes in humidity and temperature are they? Where I live, our house can be really humid and hot one day, and chilly and dry the next. as long as I have the proper heating/humidifiers in the tank, would that matter?

-And lastly, which one do you all recommend from personal experience? Are there other species I should look at (I considered a gargoyle, but thought they might be a bit too flighty)? Any and all tips or opinions are greatly appreciated! Thank y'all so much for any advice!

Help/Advice Chameleon geckos won't eat out of cups

Hey there! I'm having some troubles with my e. agricolae and e. vieillardi. Neither will eat out of their .5 oz cups. This requires me to hand feed them 1-3 times a day depending on my schedule which *I do not mind* however my baby vieillardi lost .03g the past week and I'm concerned it's still not enough. I feed them pangea/repashy off these little thingies until they've had their fill and are finished eating. My agricolae is still newer and SUPER skittish so most of the time they don't eat however their weight is looking okay since I do add bugs to the enclosure every other day for them to chomp on. Any recommendations on getting them to eat out of cups? Thanks!

Picture/Video New Leachie - Gender-neutral Name Recs please!

There was an expo in my area this past weekend and I was pretty set on getting a hognose or another tokay, but instead I found this pink-striped (and pink-bellied) AmixAna Leachie and couldn't pass her up! I also never saw a Leachie under $500 in my area before, let alone one so strikingly beautiful!

I'm so excited to see them grow out, but I am at a complete loss for a name. My other two geckos are Chamoy and Cheese, so maybe a food name that also has the pinks involved? Please help! šŸ˜‚ They said they believe them to be a boy as they can just barely see femoral pores developing, but they don't normally keep Leachies and this one was their first set to start breeding, so take that worha grain of salt tbh. However, they ultimately decided to work on other projects.

I already had everything needed to start their quarantine tank and will be getting a little nano basking bulb for a slight higher temp, but I definitely need to do more research on their specific locales! Any other advice and tips on them is also appreciated!

Identification Mediterranean Gecko Pair

Sorry not the best quality photo but I wanted to share this pair of geckos living on my porch. I’ve seen the one on the right several times but the one on the left made a sudden appearance today.

Is it a common house gecko or a mediterranean gecko? Its tail has no pattern but it seems to get along with the right one. They are both around 4-5ā€ in length.

If they are the same species I would support breeding. Just one of them was keeping the mosquitos in check so it would be nice to have more of them running around.

Help/Advice What type of heating for a neon day gecko do you use?

I’ve seen a lot of conflicting information and different setups online for klemmeri, I watched Clint’s video building an enclosure for one and he only used a uv bulb with a reflector, though it seems they need a basking spot between 85-90 degrees and I can’t imagine that bulb gets there. The setup will be bioactive and I’d like to minimize the amount of light fixtures I have to use between uv, heat, and led but I also don’t want a dead or stressed gecko. My house also runs on the colder side, around 67 degrees.

Breeding My very First leopard gecko laid her eggs

Post image

So, it came out that my very first leopard gecko was acting "weird" because she was preparing to lay her eggs. Being my very first one, I honestly don't know what I should do. My brother says, "Let nature take its course."Honestly, I don't think he is wrong, but I saw online that I should remove those eggs and put them in an incubator (which I don't have).I'm here in search of suggestions.

Help/Advice Juvenile Gecko isnt gaining weight

I got a crested gecko around 4 months ago. He's now approximately 9 months old per what the breeder told me. He's been fluctuating between 6-7grams and has only gained around 2-3grams since I got him.

I've been checking all his tank parameters and they're in the perfect ranges, he's even in a smaller and well clustered enclosure to reduce stress due to his size plus has multiple feeding points. Physically he doesn't look underweight either but he just isn't growing.

Ive tried different pangea flavors and he's been on the breeder and growth mix for a couple weeks but doesnt really seem to like anything other than crickets which he gets around 2-3 times a week. He isn't food motivated at all, even the smear on nose/mouth method doesnt work he simply tries to wipe it away.

Is his current weight and growth rate normal? Is there anything more I can do to fix this??

Breeding Tokay Morph Question?

Does anyone know why my 1 year-old Tokay male always looks tan when flared down? Even on the security camera, he never looks blue like his parents do.

I assume he's partially flared up, but I have yet to see either of his parents (or others online) with this situation. Has anyone else seen this? Could he be throwing a weird color just due to age? Is it a morph I don't know about? Both his parents seemed to be captive bred normal morphs.
