Breeding Tokay Morph Question?
Does anyone know why my 1 year-old Tokay male always looks tan when flared down? Even on the security camera, he never looks blue like his parents do.
I assume he's partially flared up, but I have yet to see either of his parents (or others online) with this situation. Has anyone else seen this? Could he be throwing a weird color just due to age? Is it a morph I don't know about? Both his parents seemed to be captive bred normal morphs.

If you have Instagram, check out Gallerygekko. She could answer all your questions far better than most!

Normal Tokay look a lot like your offspring. They will change color tone after a shed, and in breeding season. That’s December and January.
Also, some breeders are at fault for trying to call every color shade a new morph without actually proving out the genetics.

Also you look up my old Michaels Tokay Hoard site at Billewicz.com, enjoy!

I'll definitely look them up thank you! And I produced him and he's my first offspring, so I haven't grown out a tokay previously before.
His parents were sold as a normal type CB pair, so I'm realistically not expecting some crazy thing with him. I'm just curious what's going on with my little boy.

I think it could take a good 12-24 months for them to achieve their final coloration. Maybe he just needs a little more time.
