Big ass bat problem

Bats keep entering my house and I'm honestly a little scared.

edit: It's four going on five now. usually we let them out but they're really aggressive and nobody in my house wants to risk rabies

Have you tried shifting your gender to female? I don't know about bats but I think mosquitoes are less likely to bite women than men. Hope this helps!

First, figure out where they're getting in. Block the holes, put up bat houses anywhere you can so they don't keep looking for ways into your house. Call a professional if you need help.

Second, get the vaccination anyway. People have gotten rabies who never even found the scratch and by the time you notice any symptoms, it's too late to do anything about it. If you can bill it through insurance, make sure they know it's "just in case", not an emergency because you've been exposed. I saw a post last week about the out of pocket costs being around $15,000 because they billed it wrong. If you're in a place where that won't be an issue, even more reason to get it done anyway.

Third, yeah, wrong sub. I'm sure there are bat enthusiest subs that will give you advice on catching them, preventing them, making sure you and the bats have the best chance at life, etc. Go ask them.

I love bats. They're so adorable in a messed up way and they do so much good for the environment, until you get too close or too many of them together and then rabies or disease from their poop becomes an issue. Just having them around keeps the annoying insects under control, but don't take any risks if you think there's even the slightest chance once could have touched you in your sleep or something.
