HELPPPP!!!!

Hi everyone! I’m applying for the Spring 2027 nursing program and wanted to see what you guys think my chances are.

I’m transferring from NOVA and I’m currently just waiting for my transcript evaluation. They received my transcripts yesterday, so I’m not sure how long the evaluation usually takes.

For my prerequisites, I mostly have B’s with 2 A’s — A in BIO 142 and A in SDV 100. My prerequisite GPA should be around 3.26.

My TEAS scores are:

Reading: 56.4%
Math: 73.5%
Science: 61.4%
English: 72.7%

Everything else for my application is basically done, and I’m just waiting on the transcript evaluation now.

Has anyone gotten accepted with similar stats? What do you guys think my chances are for Spring 2027? Also, for anyone who transferred from NOVA, how long did Germanna take to evaluate your transcripts?

Is anyone in Medical Terminology 1 with Dr Daniel?

My computer and phone are not allowing me to see chapter 8 (the digestive system chapters) that Dr. Daniels has assigned to us, and I am freaking the fuck out. I spent an hour on call with the Pearson health team and they basically told me that there was nothing they could do. Dr. D has also been a big help, but I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem I could possibly help me?

I can literally not afford to miss this week assignment because I didn’t even notice that the class started, and missed my entire first week of classes. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Sociology professor recommendation

I’ll need SOC 200 in the spring. The options are Prof Klimenko, Bragdon, or Franklin. There aren’t a lot of reviews on RMP. Has anyone had any personal experience?

LPN to RN

Hello,

I want to apply to the LPN to RN program

I got a C in bio 141 and an A in Sdv, English 111 and a C in PSY 230.

On my teas I scored a 75%

So for my Germanna CC is about an hour and 30 mins away. I live near northern VA. Does anyone know how the classes are, labs and clinicals. How any times would i have to go back and forth to campus? Do you guys think I can get into the program. I’ve been an LPN for 4 years now and would like to achieve my RN.

Hi, can any current or former students tell me the way first semester is set up? When are classes usually? When are labs, lectures and clinicals? Any suggestions on how to succeed and make it somewhat an enjoyable process? TIA

Nursing uniforms

Does anyone know when the uniforms for the Fall 2026 nursing students will be available for pick up? Will we get an email when they’re ready or do we need to be calling the bookstore for updates? Also has anyone bought the lab kit yet or are they still unavailable? TIA!

Best professors for BIO 141 at Germanna? Planning for MWH Radiology program.

Hey everyone! I’m a college grad coming back to Germanna to knock out my prerequisites for the Mary Washington Hospital Radiologic Technology program.

I have a couple of specific questions for anyone who has taken the science tracks here:

Who are the best BIO 141 / BIO 142 professors?

Is it better to take BIO 141 fully in-person or hybrid?

For anyone who got into the Mary Washington Radiology cohort, how heavily do they weigh your HESI entry exam score versus your A&P grades?

What was your experience in the Mary Washington Radiology cohort how flexible was it? Do you recommend?

Nursing Program

Hello! I’m planning on submitting my application for the spring of next year. So I calculated my GPA and it comes out at a 3.6 for the five courses. Anyone know if it’s a weighted gpa? I have not taken the teas exam yet but I’m planning to take it in September. Just wondering about my chances of getting in and if anyone who’s been waitlisted has gotten in later? Any advice would be much appreciated!! Thank you!! :)

Nursing

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking about applying to the nursing program in fall and was wondering what my chances of getting accepted might be.

I have A’s in all of my prerequisites and co-requisites except for BIO 141 and ENG 111, where I earned B’s. I also scored a 90% on the TEAS exam.

For those who have been accepted recently or know how competitive the program is, do you think I have a good shot? I’d appreciate any feedback or experiences you can share.

Thanks!

Nursing orientation dates

Has anyone in the nursing program happened to notice any pattern or common day that the orientations are each semester? I know it’s a weird question but my sister is getting married in europe on August 7th of next year and since this past semester’s orientation was on the 9th I’m tweaking that the dates are gonna be too close together and i’m gonna miss it lol

Chemistry

Hi there. I’m currently a junior in high school and I signed up for Dual Enrollment chemistry for next year, I was just wondering what kind of content the GCC chemistry class covered since I’ve never taken a chem class before (may be a bad idea for me to just jump straight into DE but idk I saw the opportunity and took it haha) if this isn’t allowed I’ll delete

Part time nursing advice

Hi everyone, I just got into a part-time nursing program and would love some advice from those with experience.

Also, is it manageable to take additional classes at the same time, or is it better to focus only on nursing courses? Any tips for balancing the workload would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nursing health insurance

Hi guys. Do you all know if it’s okay to have short term health insurance while in the program? or where to get cheap health insurance? I’ve been calling around and the cheapest plans they are offering are in the $200 range and it’s just not doable while in school.

2nd Semester HESI Final

Nursing Program-Any current 3rd semester students have any tips for the med-surg HESI final? Which resources do you use specifically for studying? I anticipate the HESI to cover the entirety of all chapters assigned throughout the semester.
