Was anyone else surprised by how Papa V pronounced the word Perpetua in 2B2R?

I always thought it was PerPETua and that's the only way I heard it be pronounced until now. But Papa said PerpeTUa in the film. Was that because it sounded more Spanish while being in Mexico or have I been pronouncing his name wrong all this time?

While there are many very valid critiques of the movie (the odd mixing and cut songs being very common and understandable ones), the people being upset that it was so different from RHRN aren't realizing that TF did not set out with the same intentions for the movies. He had no intention of recreating the first movie. RHRN was very clearly a movie with a plot to move the lore forward. 2BTR is, in my opinion, supposed to be a more artistic film as a thank you to the fans.

People being upset that there wasn't lore are 1) missing the point, and 2) being upset they didn't get something that wasn't advertised. I think it was pretty clear with all the promo content that this was just a recorded concert.The first movie was marketed as being lore based and having a story. No lore was teased for this movie, so why are you feeling entitled to something you were never offered? What was teased was the behind the scenes portions and getting to see how the show actually works, which is what we got in between concert scenes.

A similar point is to be made for the people being upset about the different filming style. Because RHRN was more theatrical, it makes sense that it's shot in a more "music video" style. Again, it was a more traditional movie with the scenes with Sister and Nihil (as well as there were screens taking place after the concert). 2BTR was shot on 16 mm film, and that was a marketing point since the beginning. That really solidifies that this movie was meant to be a more creative art film.

I've also seen some people being upset at how audible the crowd is. While there are other things to say about the mixing, when you think about the film as a thank you to the fans who made Tobias' dreams come true, I think it makes perfect sense that the fans are able to be heard. They're the ones this is for, let them be heard as they're having an amazing time.

The film at its core, is exactly what was advertised and the fans had incorrect expectations that are now tainting their appreciation for what the movie actually is: a beautiful thank you gift before a well deserved break.

Anyways, I loved the movie and hope Tobias enjoys his very well deserved break. The real ones will still be here when Ghost returns

Ripping the bandaid off, I do not think Perpetua is the little boy we see at Sister Imperators step-dads death bed at the very end of the comics. Now this is my second time posting a Ghost theory, and I just wanted to put this out there since I haven't seen anyone else mention it. I think that little boy is Father Jim DeFroque. Hot take I am very aware but, I am basing this somewhat on the Judith is a spy theory, so, hear me out here. Why the fuck do I assume it's not Perpetua? Well, maybe I'm too easily trusting of Mirika, but I cannot see her giving little Perpetua to the exact man Sister Imperator was running from and fighting against, especially when he is the reason Mirika and Nihil's father passed away and their lives were upturnedin the first place. ​Sister Imperator and Mirika are seen as very close, considering each other sisters as the comics progress, and Mirika even bails Sister Imperator out of jail after her attempted murder of her step-father. Morika had to be aware of just who her step-father was and what he was apart of, and with this we can assume that, unless an intentional decision to seperate the twins that drastically, Mirika would not in any way have given Perpetua to Manifest, and probably no church at all considering the corruption The Ghost Project works against (and Mirika works withing this project, so if she wasn't already so close with Sister, thos had to be a big no go neon sign). The comics also reveal Sister Imperator is fully aware that th twins are separated by the time they are small children, and since she was okay with it we have to assume Perpetua was far from the church, which would also make sense how easy it was to retrieve him when it was time for him to become Papa.

One last thing on this to point out, the entire reason Sister takes the babies to Mirika at all is so they avoid the foster system and not end up raised by "some religious hypocrite like my mother? No. I won't let you become everything I've fought against. I won't!"

So, wherever Perpetua ended up, I do not think it was with Manifest in any way. But who do we know that is roughly similar in age, Catholic, and very VERY against the Satanic Ghost Project (aka Sister Imperator), Jim Defroque. So far, besides Father DeFroque and Judith, every named character has been important or connected in some way, so they would seem like odd add ins no? Okay, maybe Jim DeFroque was just used for Jesus He Knows Me, but, why did he come back for the Rite Here Rite Now download? Tobias Forge is like any of us, and he's always been so busy that sometimes he has mixed up his own characters, but why film and edit and do all of that work for just one download? He could've used Psaltarian or Sister Imperator, but he used Jim DeFroque. I will admit maybe I'm reading into it, but, combine this thought with the Judith spy theory, and I think it makes perfect sense. What's the Judith Spry theory? Let's run it down: it is the assumption that Judith (whose name people compare to Judas, the deciple who betrayed Jesus) is actually from the Catholic Church and has been sent in for some reason into The Ministry. People use her earrings and her name as evidence, considering her earrings are right side up crosses instead of the assumed upside down ones a Ministry employee would wear. I believe this theory, I may have previously said so, and this only fuels my belief. We also see as the very last sentence in the comics, that Step-Father passes his legacy to his two sons, one older boy, and the younger boy I assume is DeFroque. It would make sense then why DeFroque would send a spy into The Ministry, the same way Step-Father sent a man to track down Sister Imperator and burn down the circus.

A couple of things I am aware I'm reading too much into is the Manifest cross. To me, it looks extremely similar to the cross we see behind Jim DeFroque in the Jesus He Knows Me music video. Yes I am aware it is the most basic outline of a cross ever, but, both the Manifest cross left at the scene of the circus fire and the cross behind Jim DeFroque are both with crisp corners instead of either being stylized. The second thing is once again, the download. For a while after the drop and before Perpetuas first teasers, people assumed that DeFroque might have been the infamous twin since we see Copias face overlay and flicker on DeFroques in the video. Maybe not his twin brother, but, related some other way? Step-Fathers youngest son would be Copia's uncle, so if I was correct Jim DeFroque would be half related as an uncle. It ties them together, and it makes fans assume the wrong thing, maybe on purpose.​ I am self aware of how far this is of a reach, don't worry😭.

I have to rewatch all of the Chapters with Judith present to reanalyze her purpose, but I think that's an entirely seperate theory. Am I just crazy or does anyone else see this? Also, can we talk about how fucking sketchy ALL of Frater Imperators employees are? Like, what do you mean Copia didnt hallucinate that hot air balloon scene? What happened with that?

Seeing 2BTR got me thinking about songs I wish they played live more frequently (or at all) and tracks I wished were not consistently in the setlist. I'm going to list mine and hope to hear other's thoughts.

Need to add:

1. Secular Haze. This one is somewhat a personal choice because I remember seeing this video at my gf's house right after Infestissumam came out and I l just fell in love with the vibe of the video and the weird little waltz through the whole song. Even though I had listened to Opus before this, it was when I really became a Ghost fan. It was also one of the early singles, but has mostly disappeared from the live show.

2. Absolution. My personal favorite off of Meliora. Just a great metal intro riff and insanely catchy chorus. I know this has been featured recently, but it should be staple of the setlist.

3. Watcher in the Sky. Impera kind of got mostly ignored on 2BTR, but this song feels underappreciated as it is. Total 80's metal vibe and cool dual guitar solo.

Ok, I'm going to get absolutely roasted for some of these but here it goes...

Needs to go:

Dance Macabre: If not for Square Hammer, the encore of a Ghost show is kind of complete letdown for me. Mainly because of the song. I get it. It's a dance song. It's meant to be fun. But I don't love the lyrics. I don't love the chorus. I don't think the guitar riff is particularly interesting. It's probably my least favorite song on Prequelle, which I think is a great, and varied, album.

Mary on a Cross/Kiss the Go-Goat: Again, massively popular Ghost songs so absolutely zero chance they get removed. Just not my personal preference for these "old" songs to always be featured. They just have such a radically different vibe. Perhaps that's the point...

Mummy Dust: This one I don't have a huge problem with as I actually very much enjoy this song. But there are other tracks off Meliora (like the one above) or Opus that I think would be a good replacement for this.

For those who don’t know Dan Murrell, he’s a YouTuber who makes videos about movie criticism and the box office. On his video about the box office this past weekend, he listed 2 Big 2 Rig as the highest grossing movie in a limited theatrical release (less than 1000 theaters) this past weekend. It's been a while since our last post, but Papa's been on a vacation and he went straight back to work after he came back.

We just wrapped up our acoustic live sets - it was an immense honor opening for the "2 Big to Rig" premieres in Serbian cinemas! We'll try and post some videos of it, although we don't have a lot.

Next up - a ritual in Zappa Barka in Belgrade on the 17th of September. Hope to see any of you that are in the region or those who want to stop by! It's going to be one of a kind - impossible to repeat due to many surprises, plot twists, even the duration of the whole show due to everything that will happen.

Bit over a year ago, I was new to painting with watercolor and managed a decent Pope Grittius for the Philly ritual that I posted here.

I've gotten a little better and a lot more experimental. Watercolor and a tiny bit of gouache to help the logo. Very fun piece to make.

Recently I started working on my first battle vest. I wanted to pay homage to Ghost because they influenced a lot of my taste when I was getting into metal :)

I'm a recent convert to the Ministry and went to see 2 Big to Rig with 2 close friends on Thursday night. I change up my nails every week so I had to do something special for my new Favorite Band. Used a wide variety of nail polishes and stamping plates to get the details I wanted.

I’ve often thought about this potential collaboration, and honestly, I feel like The Weeknd × Ghost would be insanely fitting.

Both have such dark, theatrical aesthetics, and I could imagine them making something ridiculously fitting atmospheric together.

Think about the After Hours-style synth-pop mixed with Ghost’s theatrical occult rock with TheWeeknd’s moody verses leading into a huge falsetto chorus.

Then Ghost with their heavy guitars, organ, choir, and Tobias Forge’s vocals, along with similar themes of temptation, damnation, fame, excess, and slowly losing yourself and constant contrasting religious themes throughout both of their work.

I genuinely think their styles could complement each other.

Would you actually want to hear a The Weeknd × Ghost song? And what do you think it would sound?

I'm doing a deep dive into the live albums. After listening to chunks of "2 Big To Rig" on Apple Music (lossless), I'm starting to realize that if I'm being honest with myself, this just doesn't sound that good. I didn't want to believe it but, it's dangerously close to Person-With-Tape-Recorder quality. The album version anyway (I haven't seen the actual film yet).

So I wanted to go back and compare them. I actually think "Ceremony and Devotion" is probably the best-sounding of the three live albums, followed by "Rite Here Rite Now" and then "2 Big To Rig."

"Rite Here Rite Now" is really good. It's a very good recording and I think represents Tobias and his team wanting to show off the certified, recently-minted arena version of Ghost. But "Ceremony and Devotion" feels like Ghost's "Live After Death," the best one so far. A great live capture of the band's classic early material as Ghost was really breaking out. You can hear a band excited to be at the live album phase. I'll always support Tobias as he's so talented and he seems like such a lovely guy but outside of the movie, the "2 Big To Rig" recording feels almost unnecessary when a better live album just came out two years ago.

I linked to the three versions of "Square Hammer" below, but go and listen to the versions of "Cirice" or any other really essential Ghost standard and it's the same thing.

Ghost isn't going anywhere.

The contract with Loma Vista is done. 2B2R was the final record fulfilling the contract.

Whats going to happen is that he's going to partner up and create his own label. Its a money issue. The label is taking too large a share to run the concept as it is envisioned.

Another company is going to be made for merch. I guarantee its known about Merch quality especially at its cost.

What I hope he does is call up Posner and the two jam for a bit, or hell, take MCC on a short tour.

I was recently downloading a bunch of Ghost songs to MP3 which led me to try and find ever piece of art I could for the albums and singles. Thus, I wanted to share in case anyone else wants them as well (Though including the album art would exceed attachment capacity so only single covers are linked).

There were a few which were too low res for my standards (1200x1200) so I took them into Clip Studio Paint to attempt and upscale them. Among these is art for the single Rats which I couldn't find anywhere except on merch. I've included it here but I think I'll also post is separately to give it that extra bit of spotlight.

Hello all! I posted here awhile ago about some pins I was making for 2BTR and wanted to share the final product! I made about 15 in total and was able to give almost all of them out. I was a little nervous but everyone at the movie was super nice and amazing. One person even gave me their popcorn bucket and I was speechless. I plan on making more because I really enjoy doing things like these, just need some people who want them! I hope everyone who got a chance to see the movie enjoyed it (I did!!!) and more people get a chance to see it!! 💜
