Advice please

New to being homeless.

Homeless shelters won't take me due to being in wheelchair and physical limitations.

Need advice.

Uh, depends on the shelter. I got hit by a car. Ended up on a walker post op ankle reconstructive surgery... the shelter I ended up at had a medical respite program. It was great, they helped get me back into housing. The shelter I stayed at before that was awful though, and treated injured people like trash. I got treated so badly there, I'll never for get it.

What about outpatient rehabilitation facilities? What’s the nature of your disability that requires the wheelchair? Is it temporary or permanent? Are you doing anything for that such as PT or OT?

Also are you capable of handling your own ADLs or do you require care? How much care, if that’s the case? Are you signed up for Medicaid? How old are you?
