Hi everyone, I have a very strange question that I couldn't find an answer to online: the attached audio file contains the classic iPhone opening ringtone, but what is the setting that, at the end of a call, a missed call, or an dropped call, makes that strange sound, like five xylophone hits, sound like a ping pong ball bouncing in the ringtone? What is it? bug?

Every time I write something I see a suggestion block completing my sentence for me, the worst part is that it gets put in my text anyway, even if I don’t want it.

Example, I text someone in a hurry: “l’m going” and this dumb ass feature will add “to” at the end and because I immediately pressed send it sends it as “I’m going to”

I share some reminder lists with my wife. We are both updated to 26.6.1. I have had us sign out and log back in, deleted the app and reinstalled it, made sure it was refreshing; nothing seems to work.

Anyone figure out a solution? This is really Frustrating…

A family members iPhone was snatched from his hands while he was texting (so it was unlocked). About 15 minutes later I was able to go onto iCloud/Find My and request lost mode on the phone, but by then the phone status was offline and the lost mode has been pending since (I subsequently sent a command to erase the phone which is also pended). I also see that there is a notice that the phone will be removed in a months time. They had full access to email, banking apps (I think they logged in to one app somehow and tried to transfer money unsuccessfully)

A few questions:

1. Could they have initiated a remove request from the unlocked phone? I thought this requires iCloud password to do. Is the iCloud password stored somewhere they could access if phone is unlocked?

2. Can I cancel the remove request? (I assume not, I don’t see an option)

3. What happens after the month? The phone will be removed from the account. They can presumably turn it back on and reset it then? Is there a chance they could still access the data on the phone then? Presumably they could not keep it unlocked for the whole month on airplane mode right?

We are going to take strong security measures like changing all passwords and new email and bank accounts, I blacklisted the IMEI with my carrier. anything else you guys would recommend?

I remember my phone going from 20 to 80 in like... less than 30 minutes. Now? It's stuck around 1% a minute. I'm using such a high powered "fast charger" that used to literally charge this in what felt like seconds. Now it's the same speed as using a portable charger - something with way less power per second!!

I was using a fairly high draining app and with the fastest high power charger my phone was actively still draining - something that has been impossible in the past with this charger. Even turning on airplane mode, low power mode, and brightness all the way dim, it was taking 2-3 minutes per % it was increasing while using the app. Ive used this app a few months ago and it had the same issue - but my phone was able to charge seriously so much faster.

I've been off that app for a while and my phone is still taking like a full minute per percentage. Which I know did not used to be the case. And, an hour and a half from 80 to 100!? With this charger?? I swear pretty damn recently it was maybe 30-40 minutes, tops.

This just seems insane. My husband is equally as confused because this charger is - was? so good. and yes we have 2 of them, one used and one barely used, both are doing this very slow 1% a minute thing somewhat fairly recently - and we tried different boxes and wall outlets and stuff for both and nothing changed. Im on the most recent IOS update.

I've had so many reasons to go to a different phone brand after this phone and the reasons just keep piling up seemingly, even when I think it's already so bad! Is there at least a setting to turn "slow charging" off? I just checked and all my charging settings are normal, optimized and clean and everything is off. This just seems new and my phone hasn't changed so it (imo) has to be the IOS updates.

Please lmk if you know of any changes in recent IOS updates because that will at least clear up my confusion a bit! And if the beta is better also lmk!

edit: this charging speed is the same even when all apps are closed and my phone is off, in airplane mode and low battery mode. only like 1 or 2 apps have background refresh on and I've changed settings in those apps so it's every like 15 minutes rather than every minute so it's not that either.

When you log into Google on iOS, you have the option to sync mail, contacts, calendar, and notes. I understand where the first three come from to sync on my iPhone. But what “notes” are being pulled in from Google onto the apple notes app? It’s not tasks or keep.

First image is from Zepp app and the second one is from Apple fitness app. I know that Apple is somehow adding Zepp’s step count as well. How do I stop it from adding it? Please help.

Apple Account recovery: no access to trusted phone number, but Apple gave me a recovery waiting period

Today my iPhone suddenly turned off while charging. When I turned it back on, it showed the Activation Lock screen saying that only the owner can unlock the iPhone and asked for my Apple Account password.

The Apple Account shown is mine, and I know the email address, but I forgot the password. The problem is that I currently don't have access to the email account because it's only accessible from the locked iPhone, and I also don't currently have access to the phone number that was originally associated with my Apple Account.

I started account recovery through iforgot.apple.com. During the process I provided my Apple Account email, my information, an old password that I previously used, and payment information when requested.

Apple then told me: “We're evaluating your information. You'll receive an update in 23 hours.”

It also shows a phone number ending in 35, which belongs to my partner and which I currently have access to. Apple says that when I'm able to reset my password, instructions will be sent to that number.

My questions are:

1. Is this number my partner's actually being used as a recovery contact number, or is it simply the number Apple will use to notify me during the account recovery process?
2. Since I don't have access to my original trusted phone number, does that mean Apple can still recover my account through this process?
3. After the 23-hour waiting period, what normally happens? Can Apple allow me to reset the password, or can it impose another waiting period?
4. Does providing an old password, payment information and the correct Apple Account email help with the verification?
5. I made several incorrect password attempts before starting account recovery and my account was temporarily disabled. Could those attempts significantly extend the recovery period?

I'm mainly worried because I've seen many Reddit posts saying that people without access to their trusted phone number can get stuck for days or weeks. I'm trying to understand whether my situation is actually different because Apple has already accepted my recovery request and given me a specific waiting period.

So I have my screen time, and I accidentally set my date a month in the future as a joke with my friends. When I checked my Screen Time, it said I had 24 hours every day since the actual date,e so when I fixed it, it said that I had 24 hours of google.com, and this has been happening for 3 days. It fixes itself when I temporarily log out of iCloud, but when I log back in, it reverts to 24 hours. It even counts when my phone is shut off, and my background app refresh is off. I tried resetting all settings, and my actual apps aren't even being tracked anymore; it's just 24 hours of google.com. Nothing works on screentime anymore

idk if this makes sense but im trying to have different phone themes and i want different widgets for each focus but when i change the widget it changes for all of the focuses how do i stop this? i hope this makes sense thank u

I only receive a handful of voicemails a week and I check them when I see a missed call badge on the Phone app.

Today all of a sudden, without receiving any calls, a “6” badge appears. They were all voicemails and missed calls from the past two weeks, including some from the same numbers that rang through and I answered on different occasions.

I’m using the unified filter setting FWIW and I swear I didn’t see any of these six messages before today.

Any reason this happened?

New to iOS and noticed that in Safari every time I tap on a text box to type something, I get zoomed in a little. Fine whatever. But when I'm done, it leaves me there zoomed in! Bruh I don't want that! After that I can't straight scroll down because the side doesn't fit anymore it's just awful. Why would that happen, what is trying to achieve by that messing up my setup?

Any way to disable it?

I have an iPhone 14 running iOS 26.5.

When I am in a car, I sometimes need to charge my iPhone. Sometimes I will not have an adapter for the cigarette lighter, in which case I must plug my USB cable into a car's builtin USB port. My problem is that when I do this the audio switches from coming out of my iPhone's speakers to being sent over the USB cable. Thus, if my battery is low and my friend and I are trying to watch a movie in their car, I can only listen to it if I turn on the car's speakers. I am looking for a way to either disable this behavior or, at the very, switch back to my iPhone's speakers while it remains plugged in.

To qualify as a solution, the answer MUST SPECIFICALLY & ONLY involve interacting with the iPhone's user interface (i.e., the iPhone's buttons and settings) and it MUST result in the audio only being played over the iPhone's speakers. IOW, it has to only entail changing settings, or pressing buttons, on the iPhone and must work irrespective of the car, the cable used, and the port on the other end of cable that the cable is plugged into. This excludes any of the following as a solution:

1. Using a different port on the device that the iPhone is receiving power from.
2. Using a charging-only cable.
3. Using a "USB condom" (adapter) that blocks data signals.
4. Attempting to connect the iPhone to Bluetooth in an the hopes that it will take priority over the connection through the cable.

If what you propose as a solution does not meet those requirements, then please refrain from replying. I will clarify the parameters of the problem and the requirements of the answer if you ask me to.

I have a Wi‑Fi-only iPad and need to understand how an app handles:

What I need done:

• set up Xcode/Core Location simulation
• create or use GPX location profiles
• test VPN/router region behavior
• document what the app can and can’t detect

I’m not looking for anything shady — just a proper technical setup for educational/testing purposes.

I run my own postfix based email servers and they're balking at the "EHLO smtpclient.apple" that my iPhone SE with iOS 26.6.1 spits out...

What apps do you suggest that allow non-mega-cloud email servers?

hello all! i recently restored my iphone from a back up on icloud and now my settings search always comes up blank. and my priority notifications aren’t working now either. i’ve left it plugged in overnight to see if it would download whatever it needed too in the background. i’ve toggled apple intel on and off i’ve reset pretty much everything. any tips? should i continue to just leave it plugged in and it’ll work in the background? thank you!!

Curious if anyone has had a screen dimming bug since the 26.6 update? It doesn’t seem like it’s related to the auto brightness setting. I’ll wake my phone and it’s very dim then I open the control center and slide the brightness up and it doesn’t seem to do anything.

Has anyone had trouble receiving SMS verification codes since iOS 26.6 or 26.6.1? I’ve tried restarting my phone and toggling airplane mode. My carrier is AT&T but I also don’t receive the codes on my iPad Pro WiFi. Phone is a 14 Pro Max.
