So I've had the habit of eating chalks when I was kid (before 2nd grade) then I stopped eating it for years then in grade 10th and half grade 11th I started eating slate chalk like crazy I used to complete this kinda one box in mere 3 days. After September of 11th I hadn't touched a single pack and now after 2 years when I'm in college I got this strong urge to eat them again 🥲

I am living in a high rise building with great amenities in a tier 1 city. Living here since last 5 yrs. I have hardly seen my neighbours for a social meet up. Just high hellos around the common area. We have never visit each other’s home. And even when we need any help or something it’s mostly a WhatsApp chats.
On the other hand, I went to meet my friend’s family, he works with govt and recently moved to a tier1 city last month. He lives in an independent house on in a gali. And when I went to his place I was astonished to see his neighbours welcoming us. Coming out of the house to greet us. Helping with the luggage. Asking to park vehicle in their courtyard. It felt like we were not visiting on House but complete gali.
That’s made me remember my childhood and realized how we have changed overtime. Living in our own world. Where in the name of privacy we are. Actually loosing connections.

I don’t blame my neighbour. I am doing the same. And it’s not like we are not social: we have our set of friends in the society but we are just neighbours.
