Story time. When I was in high school, our tight-ass admin shortened “spirit week,” and we were only allowed to dress up 3 days of the week rather than all 5. They had dual themes each day and you had to pick one. Like one day was “silly hat” or “tie dye,” etc. On the day that we were supposed to choose between Hawaiian and Camouflage, I made a sarong out of camo fabric and wore a flower lei so that I could be in both yearbook photos. I called it “Hawaiiaflage” and I thought I was damn clever.

I dislocated my jaw playing hockey 10 or so years ago. My mum was a physiotherapist all her life and happened to be in the bleachers. She ran to the bench and asked, "Do you want to finish the game or go to the hospital?"
I said, "Finish the game ?"
She wrapped her thumb in a towel, grabbed my lower jaw by my back teeth, and pulled it down and back into place. The relief was instant. I finished the game and ended up with barely any bruising, I miss that little lady every day 😂

I’ve dislocated my jaw a handful of times and it hurts like a bitch to get it back in. The scariest part is not being able to move your jaw when it’s out of place.

common misconception about snakes since theyre often drawn with all their teeth just sticking out but they got a lot of gum in there. a lot reptiles have thick gums, people are just most familiar with the croc/gator type of mouth. for venomous snakes with big fangs they actually have like gum sheaths that they use to keep the fangs folded up in their mouths

Elapids have folding fangs. Constrictors like this one have rows of teeth covered in fleshy pockets. When they bite, the teeth naturally get bared.

Most non-poisonous constrictors don't have massive fangs. Just enough teef to hold onto prey while they bend their spines in half backwards. I was bit by a Colombian Red Tail Boa once and it did less damage than a cat scratch, although it was a little more startling.

I hate that before I even go into the comment section of videos like this, I know there will be at least twenty versions of the same joke, about how this reminds them of an ex or turns them on.

They don't actually dislocate their jaw. Their lower mandibles are connected by very stretchy ligaments, allowing them to expand very wide to swallow large prey.

They don’t pop out their jaw, it’s just the tissue connecting the two halves of the lower jaw are stretchy and can be opened wider. The jaw is always hinged
