Not really, no. Snake jaws require access to get at least somewhat around what they are biting in order to inject venom, and strikes are actually generally not very accurate, so strikes in a darkened, confined space have almost zero chance of landing. The snake will also generally be subdued by the bagging.

People who handle venomous snakes regularly, even those who are extremely cautious, quite often get bitten. Most of them are sensible enough to have the species-appropriate antivenom on hand, or nearby enough.

In India, well, the statistics speak for themselves. The country is packed with highly venomous snakes in some regions, and antivenom access is very variable, because India is huge and antivenom requires refrigeration, and replacement within months or a few years.
