Back in June I posted here asking for help testing the rebuilt version of my 2009 looper (https://www.reddit.com/r/ipadmusic/s/u3qrxy8RTM), and a bunch of you jumped in. Today it's live on the App Store, and I wanted to come back and say thank you properly.

Things that changed directly because of beta feedback:

• Full rotation support on iPad, the app now works in every orientation
• A metronome for count-in recording
• Compatibility extended back to iOS 17.7, so older devices can run it
• And a pile of bug fixes, of course

For anyone who missed the beta thread, here's what it does: 8 tracks you touch directly to mix, mute, merge and overdub, echo cancellation so you can loop through the speaker with no headphones, synced video capture, per-track undo/redo, speed/reverse, and adaptive track lengths.

The demo is by Ty Suite, a long-time Everyday Looper user. It was performed, recorded, and filmed entirely inside the app on an iPhone, through the speaker, with no headphones.

The 1.14 update for Reverie brings two AUv3 plugins, one in each direction.

Parallel Minds: Reverie is an instrument. It opens the soundscapes you have already made in the app and plays them from a keyboard, inside GarageBand, AUM, Logic, Cubasis or any other AUv3 host. It follows the host transport, and the controls are MIDI mappable and automatable.

Parallel Minds: Reverie Capture is an effect. Put it on a bus, arm it, and it records that bus directly into Reverie, ready to become your next soundscape.

What neither plugin can do is generate inside your DAW, and I have not found a way around it. Depending on the length and the effect chain the render needs too much RAM, and it would crash the host because of the maximum an AUv3 is allowed.

The rendering still happens in the app.

Also in 1.14:

• Recording from the iPad microphone or a USB interface
• Region selection on the source, an in point and an out point to choose the part that gets used
• Loop playback on every result
• Drag and drop from Files now works

For anyone who missed the July post: you give Reverie a sample, a loop, a voice or a field recording, and it generates a long evolving ambient piece out of it. Feed it the same ten seconds twice and you get two different results. Everything runs on the device, and what you make is royalty free.

But now I am interested in creating music and visuals together , and would like to showcase my talented friend’s musicianship on various instruments.

Basically I want to sequence video loops and stabs to create the music core of the tracks while also helping to creat the live accompaniment visuals for the music

I have VS 2 and Drambo so maybe there is a way I can do this.

There’s a new free Pianoteq instrument available - physically-modelled champagne flutes. In the video I demo just 3 of the options, there are 12 variations in total.

To get it:

Go to their website, sign in to your user area (You need to have a Pianoteq license to get this free instrument).

Go to the Downloads section and look for the Champagne Flute in the Free Instruments section. Download the file.

Open the Pianoteq app, click on the Options tab, then click on Install New PTQ File at the bottom of the page and navigate to the Champagne Flutes PTQ file.

Yet another looped track on iPhone with Loopy Pro. Wanted to share the app chain here since a lot of it is free and honestly punches way above its price. Hammerhead by Bram Bos for the drum machine (the only drum machine I own and use haha), J_NO Chorus by Adam Bell (free) on the loops and overlay melodies, and Flux Mini 2 by Caelum Audio (free) for sidechain "pumping." On the drum bus I also ran Magic Dice, RoughRider 3, Room Reverb, and BA-1 FX strip (all free), where the BA-1 handled the filtering (I have separate filter apps, but this works so well). For reverb I've used the Eventide Blackhole again... like in almost every track I make :D I've got Crystalline reverb from Baby Audio, but it was a lot heavier on my iPhone 14, than the BH, so I switched back to it for this performance.

More about the Flux Mini sidechaining (it might be helpful for some): I ran two instances of Hammerhead, one sending MIDI and one playing it, and used those MIDI notes (from instance 1) to trigger Flux Mini's envelope on the drums. Gave the whole thing a proper pumping feel and let the drums breathe against the pads. You can also adjust the mix amount on Flux Mini, so the strength of the pump is fully controllable.

Synth was the Gamma Mini by this.is.NOISE inc, audio interface was an iRig USB.

Took an iPad and a 25W speaker deep into a disused reservoir overflow tunnel to stress-test WAIL’s resonance against real-world concrete acoustics. The natural decay and reverb transformed the signal into something huge. (Keep an ear out for the crows reacting the moment the sub-drone hits.)

I have a Spark 2. I have 2 banks' worth of presets that I would like to replicate on my iPad without connecting to the Spark 2. I use AUM on the iPad and am looking for something that can be hosted in AUM and replicate the Spark 2 sounds.

Hi, does anyone know how to shorten the length of a chord in Scaler 3 without shortening the length of the corresponding arpeggio for that chord (in arrange view).

Google says the following but step 4 doesn't work, it keeps automatically shortening the length of the arpeggio when I shorten the length of the chord.
