Tech Support 🛠 AirPods Pro 3 connected to Kindle Paperwhite 12th gen but no audible sound

Upvotes

Has anyone had this problem?

My AirPods Pro 3 connect to my new Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation normally and the audiobook shows as playing, but there’s no sound at all.

I’ve already tried disconnecting and pairing them again, restarting the Kindle, turning Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on and off, changing the volume directly on the AirPods, and even doing a factory reset. Still nothing. That's so annoying because I had an old kindle and I just updated because of Audible.

I don’t have another bluetooth headset to test right now.
Has anyone with AirPods Pro 3 and a 12th gen Paperwhite had the same issue and managed to fix it?

Defective or did I somehow break it?

I already tried restarting and the "hold down power button" thing. It also updated the first time I restarted it so it is up to date. I don't remember how old this thing is, but it's probably like... 2 years old at most.

Purchase Question 🛒 Help me find the perfect case?

Upvotes

I just got the basic kindle and idk maybe I’m holding it wrong, but it’s not comfortable one handed. Has anyone found a case where you can attach a pop socket or something to the back, but also has a front closure (or is the screen a non issue for scratches if thrown in a bag etc). Every one I find I like it for the bigger model.

Purchase Question 🛒 Kindle decisions! Original/PW

Hi everyone!
I’m an OG Kindle lover. I had one of the old school ones with a typing keyboard, when that got stolen, I bought a 7th gen one second hand. She’s still going strong and I love her. HOWEVER, I recently borrowed my Dad’s old paper white (not sure what gen, just know she was dinky and no longer supported by software) and it’s made me want to upgrade mine so I can read at night as opposed to reading on my phone with a red light filter. BUT the new paper white models feel HUGE. Is the new kindle original good for reading in the dark? I quite like the warm light feature on PW. Size is important to me (lol) as I like something I can chuck in my bag and hold in one hand. My husband recently got a kobo and loves it. I’m torn. To add another layer to the decisions, my neighbour is selling her 6th gen paper white which I’m also tempted by.
Help me decide please! Thanks!!

Discussion 💬 Please help me decide, I feel very conflicted between devices

Hello!

I am currently feeling conflicted, please share your thoughts on this matter.

Right now I have used Kindle Paperwhite 10th gen, 32GB, in very good condition. Essentially almost ideal, no scratches, not slow, no issues or anything, except battery drains just slightly faster than a brand new Kindle, but it's non-issue, as it still holds for weeks. Honestly, it's amazing and I love it.

The issue at hand is that I am saving money and originally wanted to save for a tablet (Honor Pad 10), but I came to realize that I really wish to have Kindle Paperwhite 12th gen, Metallic Raspberry. The tablet is, in my country, 290€~, but I see Kindle PW 12th gen, mr, for 202€.

If I change plans and decide to buy the new Kindle, I will sell my older one, of course.

Now I feel very conflicted and genuinely am not sure, especially as I already have perfectly working Kindle. I feel like it's unreasonable to buy the Kindle and it makes sense to buy tablet, as originally planned, but I really wish to have the 12th gen Metallic Raspberry. I love e-readers with all my heart, especially Kindle and am wondering. I also feel pulled by the price of 202€ (at the moment it is) as on many other internet shops it's quite much more - 250€~, and 202€ seems like a steal.

Can someone convience to buy/not buy Kindle/tablet, reason with me?

Thank you!

Tech Support 🛠 Kindle Paperwhite 11th gen stuck on lock screen

Y’all I’m distraught 😭 my Paperwhite is stuck on the lock screen and I feel like I’ve tried every troubleshooting option I could find with no luck. I was reading yesterday on my lunch just fine and then about 3 hours later, it was stuck. It had about 80% charge so I know it didn’t die. So far I have tried holding the power button for 40 seconds, holding it for 60 seconds, holding it for 90 seconds. I tried the holding for 40 and then 60 and cycling through that several times. Left it charged overnight. Plugged it into my computer. Even put it in the freezer because I saw some people have results with that 😭 of course this would happen right after the price hikes lmao anyone have any other suggestions or is she just bricked?

My Kindle 📱 Oasis 10th Gen getting glitchy 😞

Hi! I have a 10th gen oasis. Lately, like the last few months, it’s been super glitchy. Like I’ll open it to read and it’s just a blank screen. Or it will get stuck on a page, or just won’t load pages when I use the multi page view.

Are these signs of the end? I know it’s not getting most updates anymore. I have restarted it a few times since these issues started but it doesn’t seem to help much.

General Question ❔ Has anyone had this problem?

When I go into the search bar and find the book I want, it’ll pull up, but when I try to add it to a collection, the page glitches and I have to completely close out the app to do anything with it. Like I can’t tap out of it or anything. These are pictures to kind of explain what I’m talking about.

Purchase Question 🛒 What's the best kindle to buy?

Hi so I'm a 14 year old teenager, and I'm turning fifteen in a couple months. I read A LOT (Like a lot, most of it online bit around 320 pages a day)

Most of that is on my computer, like e-books or fanfiction. My questions is what kind of kindle would be best to buy if I want to acess sites such as ao3?

General Question ❔ Kindle purchased w kindle unlimited on diff account

My sweet husband bought me a kindle paperwhite off his Amazon for my birthday and it comes with 3 months of KU. He didn’t know to select “as a gift” at checkout so the kindle wouldn’t be tied to his account and now the 3 months of unlimited is on his account and the kindle is coming as if it were his.

I know I could just unlink it and sign in with my account, but I would loose the 3 months of unlimited and I was really excited about that. We don’t have the money to get KU so this was great to have 3 months included.

It’s not a big deal at the end of the day but I was hoping there was something I could do. I wish you could have 2 accounts on one kindle. I don’t want to lose 3 months of unlimited but I also want to be able to buy books that aren’t on KU and read them too within this 3 month period.

Tech Support 🛠 Title: Kindle for Linux + Personal Documents on Kindle Web — Can we request this from Amazon?

I wanted to raise a feature request for Amazon because I think this would make the Kindle ecosystem much better for people who use multiple devices.

My setup is:

  • 💻 Linux laptop
  • 📱 Android phone/tablet
  • 📖 Kindle e-reader

I regularly use Send to Kindle to send my own EPUBs and PDFs to my Kindle library. Once I send a document, I can read it on my Kindle and on the Kindle Android app, and my reading progress, highlights and notes can sync between them.

The problem is when I want to read the same book on my Linux laptop.

The problem

There is no official Kindle app for Linux, so the obvious option is to use Kindle for Web in the browser.

But Kindle for Web doesn't show my Personal Documents. It mainly gives me access to Kindle Store books, while the EPUBs/PDFs I've sent through Send to Kindle aren't available there.

So I end up with something like:

Kindle e-reader → Personal Documents ✅
Android Kindle app → Personal Documents ✅
Kindle Web → Personal Documents ❌
Linux → No official Kindle app ❌

This feels like an unnecessary limitation because Amazon already stores these documents in the Kindle cloud and syncs them between supported devices.

What I'd like Amazon to do

Option 1: Add Personal Documents support to Kindle for Web.

That alone would solve the problem for Linux users, because we could simply use the web reader.

Option 2: Even better, release an official Kindle app for Linux.

Ideally, I want to be able to send an EPUB/PDF once through Send to Kindle and then access the same book from my Kindle, Android device and Linux computer — with my reading position, highlights and notes synced everywhere.

I don't think this should require a completely different ecosystem. Amazon already has most of the infrastructure; it just needs to be extended to Kindle Web/Linux.

Would other Kindle users, especially Linux users, find this useful?

If yes, it would be great if we could upvote this or send similar feedback to Amazon so they know there is demand for it.

General Question ❔ Online word processor that works in Kindle experimental browser?

I would love to use my Kindle to write. But my Kindle doesn't have a word processor or an app store to download one, and the experimental browser is so basic I can't use it to write in most online word processors.

Is there any free online word processor that works in the experimental browser?

Tech Support 🛠 Settings Keep Reverting Back to Previous

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have a Colorsoft SE and it’s up to date. Since the last update, my setting to make the page color match the mode (light or dark) keeps turning off. I have it set to “use system theme” but when I change the system theme, it untoggles and then I have to manually change the page color instead of it automatically matching dark mode or light mode.

Is there a fix for this, or just a bug from the update?
