Hello everyone. I saw so many of you showing your new Kindle and here is my very first. Question for everyone that got them self first Kindle, what was your first book you started to read on it? And what book would you recommend?

I’ve just been gifted a lovely mint/matcha coloured kindle for my birthday and I am SO excited to use it!!

I crocheted a sleeve for my books a couple months ago and today I’ve added a little matching inside pocket for my kindle. It’s not the best but I’m happy with it for now while I don’t have a kindle case.

I’m still figuring out how to use it etc so let me know if there’s any tips for a new kindle user. Also if anyone has recommendations for cute kindle cases that won’t break the bank let me know!

Finally joined the Kindle family 😄 Been reading a lot on my iPad lately, but the battery, weight, and distractions were starting to get annoying. Was torn between this and other e-readers but then this made the most sense in the country I am with the sale and current prices. Picked up a Paperwhite Kids as it was on sale lol; before the price hike and well there was free cover🫣. The experience quite amazing. Super satisfied with my decision. Excited to give my books a proper little home now. 😌

I am currently feeling conflicted, please share your thoughts on this matter.

Right now I have used Kindle Paperwhite 10th gen, 32GB, in very good condition. Essentially almost ideal, no scratches, not slow, no issues or anything, except battery drains just slightly faster than a brand new Kindle, but it's non-issue, as it still holds for weeks. Honestly, it's amazing and I love it.

The issue at hand is that I am saving money and originally wanted to save for a tablet (Honor Pad 10), but I came to realize that I really wish to have Kindle Paperwhite 12th gen, Metallic Raspberry. The tablet is, in my country, 290€~, but I see Kindle PW 12th gen, mr, for 202€.

If I change plans and decide to buy the new Kindle, I will sell my older one, of course.

Now I feel very conflicted and genuinely am not sure, especially as I already have perfectly working Kindle. I feel like it's unreasonable to buy the Kindle and it makes sense to buy tablet, as originally planned, but I really wish to have the 12th gen Metallic Raspberry. I love e-readers with all my heart, especially Kindle and am wondering. I also feel pulled by the price of 202€ (at the moment it is) as on many other internet shops it's quite much more - 250€~, and 202€ seems like a steal.

Can someone convience to buy/not buy Kindle/tablet, reason with me?

Y’all I’m distraught 😭 my Paperwhite is stuck on the lock screen and I feel like I’ve tried every troubleshooting option I could find with no luck. I was reading yesterday on my lunch just fine and then about 3 hours later, it was stuck. It had about 80% charge so I know it didn’t die. So far I have tried holding the power button for 40 seconds, holding it for 60 seconds, holding it for 90 seconds. I tried the holding for 40 and then 60 and cycling through that several times. Left it charged overnight. Plugged it into my computer. Even put it in the freezer because I saw some people have results with that 😭 of course this would happen right after the price hikes lmao anyone have any other suggestions or is she just bricked?

Hi so I'm a 14 year old teenager, and I'm turning fifteen in a couple months. I read A LOT (Like a lot, most of it online bit around 320 pages a day)

Most of that is on my computer, like e-books or fanfiction. My questions is what kind of kindle would be best to buy if I want to acess sites such as ao3?

There’s been a lot of rumours on sites, based off the last Kindle Basic being in 2022, and the Matcha colour in 2024.

It will be exciting, to see if there’s anything at all.

I just got the basic kindle and idk maybe I’m holding it wrong, but it’s not comfortable one handed. Has anyone found a case where you can attach a pop socket or something to the back, but also has a front closure (or is the screen a non issue for scratches if thrown in a bag etc). Every one I find I like it for the bigger model.

I’m an OG Kindle lover. I had one of the old school ones with a typing keyboard, when that got stolen, I bought a 7th gen one second hand. She’s still going strong and I love her. HOWEVER, I recently borrowed my Dad’s old paper white (not sure what gen, just know she was dinky and no longer supported by software) and it’s made me want to upgrade mine so I can read at night as opposed to reading on my phone with a red light filter. BUT the new paper white models feel HUGE. Is the new kindle original good for reading in the dark? I quite like the warm light feature on PW. Size is important to me (lol) as I like something I can chuck in my bag and hold in one hand. My husband recently got a kobo and loves it. I’m torn. To add another layer to the decisions, my neighbour is selling her 6th gen paper white which I’m also tempted by.
Help me decide please! Thanks!!

My AirPods Pro 3 connect to my new Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation normally and the audiobook shows as playing, but there’s no sound at all.

I’ve already tried disconnecting and pairing them again, restarting the Kindle, turning Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on and off, changing the volume directly on the AirPods, and even doing a factory reset. Still nothing. That's so annoying because I had an old kindle and I just updated because of Audible.

I don’t have another bluetooth headset to test right now.
Has anyone with AirPods Pro 3 and a 12th gen Paperwhite had the same issue and managed to fix it?

I’m a huge lover of a physical book but with a newborn it’s impossible to get my reading in so I caved and got a kindle. Also got this stand and a page turner so I can easily read when feeding her or stuck during a contact nap 🩷

Defective or did I somehow break it?

I already tried restarting and the "hold down power button" thing. It also updated the first time I restarted it so it is up to date. I don't remember how old this thing is, but it's probably like... 2 years old at most.

I tested it and it works on every color and on more than one at a time. I'm in the US, if that matters.

I mean offline way to do it, online seems overly complicated not because its hard to setup but its so hard and non intuitive to access besides pdf has tick features but does it work??

Hi! I have a 10th gen oasis. Lately, like the last few months, it’s been super glitchy. Like I’ll open it to read and it’s just a blank screen. Or it will get stuck on a page, or just won’t load pages when I use the multi page view.

Are these signs of the end? I know it’s not getting most updates anymore. I have restarted it a few times since these issues started but it doesn’t seem to help much.

The original Micro-USB port had become unreliable and would barely connect for charging, so I decided to retrofit it with USB-C.

It definitely wasn’t easy, the pads are absolutely tiny, but after a few attempts, it finally worked. USB-C retrofit successfully completed ✌🏻

(Really she was just enjoying a stretch after napping on my spouses and my kindles, but still. It could have been dangerous.)

Hi! Today I've tried jailbreaking my Paperwhite 1 using Winterbreak2 at first as the guide suggested, and obviously failed doing that. So then I tried downgrading to 5.4.4 and using the K5 JB. This time, I could actually jailbreak the device, so I ran the Hotfix, rebooted my device, and installed MRPI (for modern devices) and PEKI following the guide. MRPI seems to work fine (at least it lets me run the ```;log mrpi``` command), but I can't launch KUAL. It doesn't throw any errors or visible exceptions, it just refreshes my homescreen.

I've tried deleting the PEKI version of KUAL recommended for Kindles 5 and older and tried using the older version (the one with the .azw2 extension), and at least that older version throws an error saying that the content couldn't be opened by my Kindle.

Does anyone have any idea what could I be doing wrong?

Edit: Also, forgot to mention that ;kpm commands like ```;kpm update``` don't seem to work either :(

I have a pixel 7a on Android 17 but every time I try to install kindle app i get this error. Does anyone know how i can fix it?
