This piece is discontinued from Aritzia (Guelph Sweater) but I would love to make something like this - I love how chunky and squishy the ribbing makes it! Thanks in advance :)

What are your tried-and-true men's raglan / saddle sleeve pullover patterns?

I've been working on a top-down raglan sweater for my husband's birthday. I've completed the raglan increases and divided for sleeves and added the ribbed collar. I'm noticing that there is a lot of excess fabric around the armpits which bunches up when the arms are held at the sides. Now that I'm looking through other people's projects again, I'm seeing many with the same fit issue. My husband doesn't mind, but I know it will continue to bother me if I proceed with the rest of the knit.

After doing some research, I think the issue might stem from the fact that my husband's back measurement is narrower than his front measurements, but this sweater is designed to have the same number of stitches on back and front. Looking for recommendations for a men's/unisex raglan or saddle sleeve pullover that fits really well. Perhaps one with compound increases for better shaping in the upper torso? I'm using worsted/aran weight yarn.

My husband has a fairly average build (shoulders, chest, waist, and hips are all roughly the same size), and likes garments with a fair amount of positive ease (not oversized but not super fitted either).

Thanks in advance!

Pattern for beret with bands (??)

It does look like a normal beret when flat but then from profile it looks like a whole hat that can be securely tied almost like a scarf. I have never seen something like this in a beret form and after surfing around knitting websites couldn't find anything like this. Found this on a designer page, but they only sell the knitted pieces. Any recommendations?

I really want to knit this pattern but I would like to use my own choice of wool (not wool and the gang)…. Does anyone know where I could get this pattern without buying the whole kit please? 🙏

Thank you in advance!

Where to start

Hi all!

I purchased a sweater as a teenager from forever. 21. I have the idea that I could re-create it using quality fiber, but have no idea how to start even looking for a pattern. I am a relative novice to knitting, but feel decently confident I can tackle this moderately sized project. Any advice you can offer on patterns or where to find them would be deeply appreciated!

Looking for a pattern for a sweater vest

Upvotes

Idk if this is exactly the right place to ask, but I figure a community specifically dedicated to knitting patterns would care enough to not give me AI bullshit.

Anyway, I really wanna ask my nan to make me a sweater vest, but she prefers to have a pattern to refer to while she works, just to make sure she's not getting lost, and as I stated above, I want to make sure I'm getting a real pattern she can actually follow, given the high likelihood of Google just spitting out ai generated patterns that don't work. Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is the wrong place

Searching for 80s pattern

Post image

This is a long shot, but I am looking for a pattern in an old knitting magazine called Knitting with Simplicity from the late 80s. The magazine ran for about 3 years. I'm looking for the issue with pattern No. 28 “Floral Cardigan” and No. 29 “Floral Pullover”. I'm not 100% sure that it's from this periodical, but I'm fairly sure it was. This is a photo of the sweater I am looking for. Can anyone help me find it?

Calling all Dutch knitters!

I would like to make my daughter a Miffy (nijntje) jumper, so I naturally have been googling in Dutch.

I came across this listing (https://marktplaza.nl/breipatroon-1432-zestien-nijntje-truitjes-84513506#google_vignette) that appears to be a book or magazine for patterns. The listing is 7 years old and the shop email bounced back as not deliverable, so I'm not able to buy it.

Does anyone recognize this book/magazine? Does anyone have any leads on being able to buy it? I'd rather not chart my own id possible so would love to be able to buy something

Help needed

I ran into an older lady at the yarn store wanting to know if anyone knew where she could find a pattern of either the edge that’s done here or a blanket with an edge like it. I wasn’t able to find anything for her in the store but I did grab her email and I told her I’d try to find some information out and let her know.

Anyone have any leads?

Picture in comments because apparently I can’t figure out to add it to the post.

Anyone know how I could recreate this cardigan?

I’m desperate to try and recreate my favourite cardigan (which was just store-bought and has seen better days).
If anyone has seen any similar patterns or knows how I could real create it I’d be so grateful!
I’d say I’m a novice/intermediate knitter but wouldn’t know where to start trying to draft my own pattern. I think it looks like it could be quite a simple sewn-together construction?
Thank you!!

Not-my-UFO pattern search

A few years ago, I inherited a lot of yarn from a family friend who lost her battle with a very aggressive cancer. She was an incredible and prolific fiber artist; I can only hope to be half as good as her in my lifetime, and I’ve been knitting since I was 5 (mid-30s now). Several of the yarns I received are already knit into UFOs, and this is the only one that didn’t have a pattern with it. It’s also one of only two that I cannot bear to frog. The stitch-work is too beautiful and even. I would love to be able to finish this garment as intended. I’ll share as much as I know:

- yarn is Tahki Chelsea Silk, which is labeled as an Aran-weight on Ravelry
- the pieces I have are the back and half of two sleeves, so this could be a cardigan or a pullover
- the pattern is knit bottom-up and seamed
- I suspect this will be a printed pattern, or one in a book, magazine, or pamphlet
- the other project that I cannot bear to frog, which is a stunning cabled cardigan, is a Penny Straker pattern
- this friend also had a collection of books and magazines from Japan, so there’s a chance this pattern is in one of them (I still have to go through them all)
- my partner already tried a Google image search, Gemini, and Claude, and got nothing

Any help is appreciated! I will be continuing to search on my own, but that could take me years! There are so many patterns!

Love this pattern!

I saw this sweater in a shop. Obviously machine made. But I love the lace design! I haven’t ever seen anything like it on knitting patterns and keywords aren’t getting me what I want on ravelry. I care less about the sweater construction and more about finding the lace pattern, so if it’s on a shawl or different garment or whatever, that’s cool.

Have you seen anything similar?

Help finding Project Hail Mary beanie pattern

Post image

I realize I am a couple months late on the PMH knitwear craze, but could someone point me to a similar pattern for the beanie Grace wears?

I am a relatively new knitter. I know enough (hopefully) to identify it as 2x1 or 2x2 rib, but I don’t really know enough about construction to pick a pattern that cups the head similarly.

Thank you so much!

Jil Eaton Pinafore Dress Pattern #230 QK?

I'm looking to buy Jil Eaton's Pinafore Dress pattern that was published as a single pattern in the 2010s. It's in my Ravelry library with a note saying where I got it, but I've sifted through my piles of patterns and cannot find it. And I finally have a granddaughter!

If there is one brand i'd want to own everything of, it would be Eribé- I have already one of their fair-isle jumpers but would want another, save the massive price tag.
Does anyone know of any existing jumper patterns that are similar? had a browse through ravelry but thought it would be best to ask here as well. Pictures of some of their garments below
