I’m just saying, a Switch 2 version of Skywalker Saga was literally right freaking there, or even LEGO DC Supervillains! But this is a game from the Wii/Xbox 360/PS3 era, probably the last Switch 1 LEGO game that really needed this.

If LEGO The Lord of the Rings does nothing when you try to launch it on Windows 10/11, and compatibility mode / administrator mode / DirectX installation don't help, check your DEP (Data Execution Prevention) settings.

This fixed the problem for me.

My configuration: Windows 10 22H2, LEGO The Lord of the Rings

LEGOLOTR.exe version 1.0.0.37422

Launching the game resulted in nothing happening

Event Viewer showed: Faulting application: LEGOLOTR.exe Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fix

Press Win + R. Enter: sysdm.cpl

Open the Advanced tab. Under Performance, click Settings. Open the Data Execution Prevention tab.

Select: Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select

Click Add... Select your game's executable: LEGOLOTR.exe

For example: F:\Games\legolotr\LEGO Lord of the Rings\LEGOLOTR.exe

Click Apply → OK. Try launching the game again.

Result

In my case, the game immediately started working.

I was also able to play two story levels successfully, so this wasn't just getting the launcher to open.

Why does this work?

The crash was an execute access violation (0xc0000005). Analysis of the crash dump showed that the game was attempting to execute code from a memory region that Windows DEP was preventing from being executed.

Adding LEGOLOTR.exe to the DEP exception list allowed the game to run normally.

Important: this is a case-specific solution. It worked for my Windows 10 22H2 installation and my LEGOLOTR.exe version 1.0.0.37422. It may not fix every version or installation of the game.

If you're experiencing the same problem, checking DEP is worth trying before spending hours reinstalling DirectX or changing compatibility settings.

I’ve been searching for weeks for an answer to this so I’m posting here - I’m at 98% completion in Legacy of the Dark Knight, and I need to replay some missions for the collectibles I missed. However, fast traveling to the Batcave causes my game to crash (I’m on PC). Can anyone please help me so I don’t have to reset my save?

My idea is to combine marvel’s secret wars and dc’s crisis on infinite earths into one game. Secret invasion would be the epilogue of the game. Basically the beyonders and the anti monitor would be the main villains of the first part of the game. Dr Doom and the Maker would also be joint villains of this game forming a joint lego dc marvel universe. It would loosely adapt crisis on infinite earths and secret wars 2015. Dr doom would take advantage of the events of crisis on infinite earths to form a united dc and marvel lego universe, as incursions have been happening in the marvel universe throughout crisis on infinite earths. The maker would help doctor doom in this as he wants his own ‘perfect’ world. Lex luthor and braniac would also be villains along with doom and the maker.

I’m gonna skip to the end of the game as I’m not quite sure how the plot would go. During the final confrontation where heroes of both dc and marvel save the universe/multiverse elektra is killed by lobo or someone idk this is just a basic idea. This would start the epilogue/bonus missions of the game, where secret invasion would be adapted in a way where both marvel and dc heroes/villains can be affected. This would be like a bonus campaign, it would have to be pretty long. Come to think of it it could be turned into a dlc for later. In this adaptation secret invasion would also involve the durlans and the white martians from dc comics, the species would work together with the skrulls to replace heroes and villains on earth.

This game would be a lot like lego dimensions, in the way that the characters are super cool not in the way that everything would cost $500 and the game is discontinued after 2 years. Some characters would have multiple universe versions, they would all be one character but yo ucould access a menu in the character select screen to change which one you want to use. For example, batman would have versions like arkham, lego, absolute, 1960s tv show, and more. Each version would have unique abilities, like arkham batman would be able to access all his gadgets from arkham knight. Adam west batman would have tons of random gadgets that you can use in one or two situations. Iron man would take from lego marvel avengers, in this game you would get an interface of all (not all but a lot) his suits from different universes, each having unique abilities that fit their character. Superior iron man would actually be able to do cool stuff and not just be a reskin. Spiderman would have an insomniac version where he can use the gadgets, and multipole symbiote versions with different abilities. some characters would actually be able to transform into their other variants if it makes sense like spiderman to symbiote spiderman and iron man to hulkbuster. This is just an example of how character would work but I think it would be really cool, and even though it would take tt years it would be worth the wait. We would also of course get the character customiser back, but different to before. instead of creating a whole new character, you would be able to load a character into the customiser and change what they look like (it would be saved as a different character). There would still be some full on custom characters but due to how the abilities will work in this game it won’t be able to do everything, just basic stuff like beams, charge ups, weapons, flight, simple stuff. Maybe you could select a unique powerset but that could be complicated.

This is all on the assumption of how funds are currently split, I’m assuming for a game like LOTDK WB/DC earnt 50% and TT earnt 50%. This could be wrong, but it’s just a fan proposal. TT develops the entire game and actually does everything so it’s only fair they get 50%. The IP contributor should also get 50% as it’s their intellectual property. In this scenario there are two IP contributors, and in my mind they are only bringing in half of the appeal they normaly would so it’s only fair they get 25% of the “IP share”. Another way to divvy up the profits is 33.3% each. This profit share is purely for the base game income, in my mind dlc would be 50/50 split between TT and either dc or marvel, depending on who’s dlc it is. A dc dlc would be classified as something with 10 or less marvel characters (excluding armies and stuff) and has a majority dc characters. Same thing with marvel but the inverse. The classification could change but this is just my idea . P.S captain america needs to have at least one rob liefeld suit

For 7th Gen games it was somewhat understandable since the concept of updating games with downloadable patches was new, but 8th and 9th Gen titles like Lego Incredibles and Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga literally have empty update notes on steam.

I've also heard games like Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 and Lego City Undercover are prone to bugs (via youtube videos and the steam reviews).

It bewilders me. Even EA and does bug fixes for their games. TT needs to do better and stop leaving broken games broken.

im not some extreme fan into lego but i played few lego games, i wonder why isnt the whole game in lego theme, only the characters and some props but ground and most of the buildings are normal 3d models, why are 'lego worlds' and 'lego movie videogame' only lego themed games that actually have lego designed worlds?

i understand that its easier to just put in some pre modeled 3D buildings but it feels extremelly lazy to me tbh

I've tried playing Lego Indiana jones as well, and this screen tearing keeps happening, is there a solution?

Does this game have any online updates/patches worth downloading? The ps3 won’t detect my WiFi and getting an Ethernet cable to it would be a bit of hassle.
