GM Needed by Existing Group Group of 5 new and experienced players looking for DM [ONLINE] [5e 2024] [5e 2014] [CST] [TUE] [THUR]

Hi, 27F in the USA, OK. My D&D group and I are looking for a DM to run a side campaign for us. Our current DM (my boyfriend) no longer has the setup at the moment to host, but we all still want to play, so we need another DM who is welcome to be a player in his campaign when it's back up and running. We are using D&D Beyond for both character sheets and VTT. I have a server we use for VC. If you are interested in being our DM, DM me.
We are into lore and chaotic dice, fueling legendary D&D campaigns in a safe, proudly queer-friendly 21-plus space. Neurodivergent-aware, low-pressure vibes mix with adult humor, respectful boundaries, hype energy, memes, and found-family friendships built for nerds who love storytelling.
I'm looking forward to making some new friends and starting a grand adventure!! The Discord server/campaign is 21+.
We are a group of 5 looking for a steampunk-infused story. A few of us have joint backstories and multiclasses. We're starting at level 1. We're planning on Tuesday or Thursday sessions in the evening CST.
With that said, if you are interested in joining or have any questions, DM me. We'd love to have you!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014][UTC-4] Looking for 1 player — Character-driven high fantasy campaign

Game: D&D 5e (2014 rules)
Platform: Roll20 + Discord
Timezone: UTC-4 / Eastern
Schedule: Every other Wednesday, 3–6 PM ET
Looking for: 1 player — Druid
Experience: New players welcome
Style: High fantasy / exploration / mystery / roleplay / combat

I'm putting together a small D&D campaign set in Aletheora, a high-fantasy world of ancient magic, forgotten civilizations, dangerous ruins, and a world that has been shaped by magic for thousands of years.

The campaign begins with the exploration of an ancient citadel.

But there's a twist to how we're approaching the characters.

You don't need to arrive with a finished character.

Instead, we'll spend some time together discovering who your character is: what they value, who they care about, what they believe, and what they won't compromise on.

Then the adventure gets to work.

The situations your character encounters are designed to put those things under pressure. Your choices matter, and sometimes you may discover something about your character by watching what they choose to do.

I'm looking specifically for a Druid, but you don't need to have a fully formed concept. In fact, I'd prefer that we discover the character together rather than starting with a 10-page backstory.

This isn't a rules-heavy or "professional roleplayer" game. You can be new to D&D. I'm much more interested in someone who enjoys playing a person rather than just controlling a character sheet.

The game is currently being assembled, so you'll be joining at the beginning rather than being dropped into an established campaign.

If that sounds like your kind of D&D, send me a chat with a little about yourself and what you enjoy most about playing TTRPGs.

I'm happy to answer questions about the setting or the character process without spoiling the adventure.

Group Needed by Player [Online][5e 2024][GMT +2][Sundays] New Player looking for One-Shot or Campaign

Hello! I'm relatively new to DnD, played my first game a couple of days ago and am now interested to play the game some more, so I wanted to try my luck here! I'm german, so I'd be up for german speaking games as well as english!

I'm mostly available on Sundays do to my work giving me a random day off per week and sunday, so most consistent for me would be a Sunday.

I hope there'd be a Group kind enough to pick me up, and be patient with me with trying to figure some more things out about the game! You can either message me here or send me a DM on discord, my tag is "someabsol". Hope to make some new friends and some awesome adventures!

Player(s) Needed by GM [DND 5e 2014] [online] [17:00 -22/23:00 cest] hardcore mines of phandelver

Hello everyone, we're looking for someone who's willing to join us on the last 4 levels of [phandelver and below] hardcore version.

Due to work one of our players had to drop out so we're looking for a fourth who will help us finally beat this game.

Preferably we'd like someone with some experience as the combat tends to be quite hard. Due to to the special rules the character creation is a bit unique. All of us gambled on our race, background and stats.

These rules were inspired by the BrettUltimus phandelver series.

If you're interested in doing some high level fighting and perhaps never got to finish this campaign before, shoot me a text on discord!

Discord: bestzealot

Hope to see you soon:)

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online][5e 2024][GMT] Group of 5 engaged players seeking a DM for bi-weekly 18:00 Sunday Crooked Moon or similar!

Hey there! We’re a group of five players in our early 30s or thereabouts who are looking for a DM to run the Crooked Moon campaign - although we’re open to other modules and settings as well, such as Grim Hollow or the good old Forgotten Realms (Not so much up for homebrew first time around)! As a group, not all of us have played together extensively before - some have, yet others are new - but we’ve gone through a process and one-shots to make sure we all mesh well together, enjoy each-others’ playstyles, and are all looking for the same thing (such as an extensive talk about exactly what we want to put in this post!)

So who is the right DM?

Well, for starters the right DM for this group is one who’d like to share in the collaborative storytelling experience that is D&D to the fullest - one who is as character-focused as story-focused, and can make the players’ characters feel like a true part of the world with real impact. We’re looking for somebody who’d love to work closely with each of us on background stories and character arcs throughout the campaign, and who can make good on the setups we collectively bake into them. Some narrative descriptions to set the feeling of a scene and fleshed out, real-feeling NPC are a huge plus, but the most important thing is passion for the role of DM and the game you’re running! Communication is also a must, we’re all adults and need to be able to talk to each-other!

And who are we?

As players, we are all of us dedicated and engaged people who are committed to showing up and paying attention when we play, especially given the bi-weekly nature of this setup. We’re most certainly a roleplay-heavy group who want to dive deep into the characters and story, but also put proper and full effort into engaging with the story and world - we want to make the DM feel as though their effort is both appreciated and reciprocated, they’re a player at the table too, after all. Currently we have a rough idea of the party roster (based on the Crooked Moon content), and a pretty solid idea for the dynamics we want to see - but integrating background stories into the story and world is something we’d love to do alongside the DM!

Additionally, four of us have DMed before, with at least two who have over a decade of experience - so there is a good understanding of what it takes, and what we should bring to the table as players!

The process we have in mind:

Naturally, we will have one of us act as the contact-person for this post. If this seems like the group for you, please do send a message! Should it seem prudent, we would like to all have a talk with you where we can get a better idea of who you are and what kind of DM you’d be - but also the other way around. Questions can feel a bit like an interview, but this would be just as much for you to ask us what you might like to know!

If both parties feel like it would be a good match, we’d very much like to do a one-shot with you to see how it all lines up!

Details:

  • Time: 18:00 GMT (19:00 UK time, 20:00 Oslo, Paris, Berlin) - Sundays, bi-weekly
  • Campaign Setting & Campaign: Crooked Moon - Optionally others upon discussion
  • Platform: Roll20 or Foundry (preferred)
  • System: D&D 5e 2024
  • Session length: ~4 hours
  • Leveling: Milestone preferred, optional
  • Contact (Discord): Lokefaen

Group Needed by Player [Online][Other][GMT+0] Experienced player looking for a game in any system.

28 years old here. Looking for a game in any system. I've played and DMd various games over the past 8 or so years, including ones in DnD 5e, GURPS, Lancer, and a few more smaller systems. I'm totally LGBTQ friendly.

No huge preference in RP or Combat focus, but I enjoy a nice balance when possible.

Discord is YogPoz and will be the best place to message me.

Best days are Tuesdays but others may be doable

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2014/24][GMT+3][Beginner Friendly][LGBTQ+] Vesper Academy

Hello! We’re looking for 1 more player for our modern highschool “hero” academy setting campaign. All are welcomed. We use dnd 5e with homebrewed elements, but most of all we lean more towards roleplay, and having laughs, alongside adventures and battles. We’re not a rules heavy group and are more interested in telling a fun and engaging story. We’re looking for someone friendly and reliable that we can all hopefully create a friendship with.

Time: Flexible Fri, Sat, or Sun 8pm (Helsinki Time)
Age: 21+ (The oldest in our group is 30+)
Platform: Discord

The Hook

What is the measure of a hero?

Their selflessness, their altruism?

Their courage?

Their compassion?

Let’s find out

Our story takes place within the great nation of Boletaria, a rugged realm nestled at the heart of a sprawling continent, bordered by the mountainous, fiercely independent nation of Vinheim to the north, the fertile and forest-rich lands of Catarina to the west, and the warring nation of Astora to the south.

At the center of Boletaria, lies the capital Solarmount, a dazzling city perched on the edge of a soaring mountain plateau, where ancient magic hums beneath cutting-edge technology. Powering this metropolis is the Tower of Ra, a monumental tower crowned with an Astral Sphere that captures and amplifies both the light of the sun and the light of the cosmos to power the city’s magic-tech grid.

Despite its grandeur, Solarmount is not without its shadow, Lunargard. Beneath the gleaming streets lies The Undercity, where dark magic stirs and factions vie for control over the light above.

You have enrolled in The Vesper Academy, an adventuring Academy set at the very edge of Solarmount. Here you will learn what it means to stand up for those who cannot, to temper your strength and harness it, to face the dark, master yourselves and to understand your place in the world.

So I ask again, what is the measure of a hero?

"From Flame, Order. From Shadow, Strength."

Do not fear our adage, let it guide you. Let flame and shadow shape you into a bastion for our people, let flame and shadow shape you into

A Lancer

Or something more…

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024][5.5e][2024 Rules][25+][Tuesdays 7:30 PM ET] Never played D&D but always wanted to? Beginner campaign starting Sept. 15

Have you wanted to try D&D for years but never quite had the opportunity? This game is specifically for you.

I’m putting together a group of about five players, age 25+, who have essentially never played D&D before. The idea is to have everyone starting from roughly the same place so we can take things slowly, learn the game , and not have anyone feel like they’re trying to catch up with a table full of veterans.

If you’ve watched Critical Role or other actual-play shows, played Baldur’s Gate 3, read about D&D, or played a session once upon a time, that’s completely fine.

The Campaign

We’ll be playing Lost Mine of Phandelver, the classic introductory D&D adventure. I’ve been DMing for over a decade and have run this adventure before and am looking forward to sharing it with you.

Lost Mine a traditional heroic-fantasy campaign with a mix of roleplaying, exploration, problem-solving, and combat. My goal is to roughly balance those in more or less equal parts.

And if “roleplaying” sounds intimidating: nobody is expected to be an actor, do voices, or perform. Deciding what your character thinks and does is roleplaying. Everything beyond that is optional.

We’ll use the 2024 D&D rules and character options only. That’s mostly to keep things streamlined.

Schedule

Tuesday evenings, weekly

7:30 PM Eastern, ending between 10:00 and 10:30 PM, depending on where we find a natural stopping point in the session.

I expect the campaign to take approximately 12–16 sessions, or roughly four months, depending on the group’s pace and choices.

The planned "Session 0" (an introductory session to cover expectations, character creation, basics of how to play, the setting, etc. before the adventure itself begins) is Tuesday, September 15. The adventure itself will begin the following week.  Once we have a group, I will send around more info directly on what to expect from that intro session.

Technology

We’ll use:

  • Roll20 for the virtual tabletop
  • D&D Beyond for character sheets
  • Beyond20 to have those two connect
  • Discord for video and audio.  (I usually use Zoom and may go back to it, depending on Discord quality)

Cameras on will be expected during sessions to, as best as possible, replicate playing in person.

You will not need to purchase any books or any content on D&D Beyond. I’ll share the D&D Beyond content needed for character creation, so everyone will have access to the relevant 2024 material. Free accounts on dndbeyond and Roll20 are all you need.

What makes a good player for this

The main requirement is enthusiasm about actually playing D&D and doing it as part of a group.

I’m looking for players who will:

  • Show up reliably and on time
  • Pay attention and stay engaged when someone else has the spotlight
  • Make an effort to learn how their own character works as we go and come prepared
  • Play cooperatively rather than treating the other players as competition
  • Let the group know in advance when real life means they need to miss a session

The game will be cooperative, welcoming, and respectful. No PvP, deliberately disruptive characters, bigotry, or explicit sexual content. In general, if your character concept depends on conflict with the other players or their characters, this is not the campaign for you.

A Couple of Important Qualifications

This game is 25+.  I'm doing this for people who are "adulting" and looking for a table.

It is also intended for people who do not already know Lost Mine of Phandelver. If you’ve played, read, watched, or otherwise become familiar with the adventure, please leave this one for people who will be experiencing it for the first time.

Interested?

Fill out the Google Form here to let me know you're interested, confirm your availability, and get a sense of what people are looking for in the 40+ hours total that the campaign runs.:

https://forms.gle/zgwJ9eH9UQomq98U8

Sign-ups will be open until Friday, September 4 at 10pm Eastern.

This is not first-come, first-served because I don't want this to just be a matter of who hit submit first. I’ll review the responses after the form closes and put together a group that looks like it will work well together, so there’s no advantage to filling it out five minutes after this gets posted.  (From talking to other DMs, this sort of post tends to be popular, so depending on the number of submissions, some selection may come down to me doing dice rolls, as is only proper for D&D.)

If you’ve been thinking “D&D looks fun, but I have no idea how to actually start playing it,” you're exactly who I'm putting this up for.

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online] [5e 2024] [GMT+8] 4 players looking for a DM on Tue/Wed nights (9PM-12AM), starting Oct

Hey folks,

We're a small group of 4 players based in GMT+8 looking for a DM to be the lead storyteller in a table for a campaign! We're aiming for an October start, on either Tuesday, or Wednesday night.

Quick background:

We've all played a few campaigns before, so we're not totally fresh, but definitely still on the novice side. We know how to roll attacks and spells, we won't be rules lawyering you or min-maxing everything. We're in it for the fun and the story.

As for playstyle: we like a good mix of everything. Combat's great, but we also enjoy exploring weird places, RPing and building relationships with NPCs rather than just treating them as quest dispensers. We like following story threads and getting invested in plotlines, we won't be the type to go totally off the rails just to be chaotic. We're collaborative and generally just down to have a good time.

What we're looking for in a DM:

Honestly, just someone who's chill and wants to tell a story with us. We're not looking for a hardcore tactical simulator or a DM vs players vibe. We respect the rules but rule of cool can come into play sometimes. Whether you have years of experience under your belt or if you're new to DMing and want to start your journey, we're totally fine with both! We're patient and won't get mad if you forget a ruling, we'll just roll with it.

We're okay with all VTTs (we usually use foundry, previously used roll20 so we're proficient in both! ;)

Most importantly: we respect each other's time and stay engaged during the session. 9PM to 12AM GMT+8 is locked in for us, and we're looking for someone who can commit to that too.

If this sounds like a fit, hit me up on Reddit DM. Just tell us a bit about yourself, how old you are, your DM style, and if you've got any campaign modules or ideas in mind (or if you want us to pick a module), feel free to ask us questions too! We're pretty easygoing.

Cheers,

The Group

Group Needed by Player [online] [DND 5e] [2014] lgbtq friendly, in my 30s and have about 9 yrs experience.est available anyday starting at 7:30 pm except wed.

Im looking for a group to join and have a blast with. My favorite thing about DND is watching everyone's back stories played out. I'd like to think I'm creative when it comes to combat and problem solving. I have a few character concepts in mind that I would love to discuss to see which one would fit the best. I rarely miss sessions or am late but even if I think it's a possibility, I would give a heads up.

One of the concepts is a human rogue who belongs to a powerful crime family and instead of being in the family business. He ends up running away and stealing from them instead to help the needy. There's a lot more to it but that's just the general idea and I still have a few other concepts.

Group Needed by Player [Online][PF2e][UTC+1/CET][Sun/Mon/Tue/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday] Experienced PF2e Player Looking for a Weekly Game

Hi, I’m looking to join a regular online Pathfinder 2e game on Sundays, Mondays, or Tuesdays.

I’ve been playing PF2e for about four years, plus several more years in other systems. I know the PF2e rules well, enjoy character building, and try to make characters that fit the party and campaign instead of just chasing mechanics.

I’m looking for a consistent group with clear communication, regular sessions, and a table where people respect each other’s time. I show up prepared, follow table rules, pay attention during sessions, and try to contribute to both the story and the group dynamic.

Voice: Discord preferred
VTT: Comfortable with Foundry VTT and Roll20, but I do not mind adapting to other options. On the rare chance you use Tabletop Simulator, I have it.
Game type: Long-term campaign preferred, but I’m open to trying a shorter game first

I'm not looking for paid games.

I’m happy to answer questions, talk through playstyle, or anything else needed. Feel free to DM me if you have a spot open and think I might fit your group.

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online][5e 2014] [CET] [Mondays 19:00] Dedicated RP-Focused Group of 5 Seeking a DM for Homebrew Campaign!

Hi there honourable dungeon masters and storytellers! We’re a recently formed group of 5 players looking for a DM who has a homebrew fantasy world we can get lost in and a long running campaign that we can all see grow and develop as the game goes on!

In terms of setting preference, we’re primarily looking for a traditional high-fantasy world. We enjoy the versatility that high fantasy offers and the wide range of stories it can support which gives a lot of themes a story can go through! While we appreciate darker themes when they serve the story, we’re not particularly interested in sci-fi settings, grimdark worlds, or campaigns heavily focused on gritty survival.

As a group we all share a strong interest in roleplay, character development, party dynamics and stories that feel personal to the characters involved. One of the biggest things we’re hoping to find is a DM who enjoys incorporating our character backstories into the broader narrative/world allowing character arcs to develop naturally alongside the story.

Outside of roleplay we value consistency (Showing up), being one of the key factors of a long running group and also care to be attentive and engaged players when we are at the table! Communication in general is also one of the best tools when issues arise, and keeps everything running smoothly so things don’t fall through. We also enjoy the use of webcams to increase the social aspect of the game!

Ultimately, we’re looking for a DM who enjoys building a story with their players, values strong character involvement, and is interested in creating a long-term campaign where both the world and the characters can grow together. But most of all someone we can also call a friend and hang out with!

System requirements: DND 2014

Availability: Monday: 19:00-23:00 CET, Wednesday: (some exceptions) 19:00-23:00 CET

Preferred way to play: Discord for voice and camera, any VTT

Here is a bit about us:

Luke (M, 23, He/him): Hi there! I’m a video editor and part time gamer from the Netherlands. I like to make music with my band and hang out with friends in the meantime! Ive been playing DnD for roughly 8 years by now and get a lot of my enjoyment in the roleplay and dynamic of a party. Seeing what sort of worlds other DM’s have made is incredibly cool and I love to learn about others settings!

Matt (M, 27, He/Him): Greetings! I'm Matt, an Ex-Esports player Gymbro. Currently working together with Best friend and roommate on making our own VTT, public soon! I love passion, and I believe DND can be an aspiring tool in order to discover, explore and share one's passion to another through immersive Roleplaying. Please give me your worst, a challenge, a path and I'll bring the Wrath. See more of me on Youtube > Roll For Impact > The Stranger > Nylus von Stonen

Sori/Lukas (M, 27, he/him): Hi there! I'm currently finishing my education/training to be a kindergarten teacher, after which I'd love to go study social work. I've been a player and dm for roughly 11~ years now. Mostly played VtR before switching to DnD. My favorite part about roleplaying is definitely the deep diving we as a group do, in each individual backstory or overarching plotline of the campaign, while we grow as a party IC and OOC.

Diana (26, She/Her): Hi, I’m currently a student studying for my postgraduate degree! In my free time I love to play video games, read, make videos, and just hang out with friends! I’ve been playing D&D since 2020 and my favorite thing about it is being able to create and tell an interesting story with other amazing, creative players! I love going in depth into characters backstories and how their motivations can really drive the parties goals. I’ll talk for hours after a session about the world we’re set in and the characters everyone has developed!

Jack (20, He/Him): Hi! I’m a student studying Film Production! I’m a big video gamer, reader and card gamer! I’ve been playing dnd for about 7 or 8 years now and whilst the majority of my time has been as a player recently I’ve been a forever DM (as of the past 3 years I haven’t been a player once!!! 😭😭😭) My favourite part of dnd has to be the collaborative storytelling with how the players and dm interact together to create both an overarching plotline but also individual character arcs!

Group Needed by Player [PF2e or SF2e][PST][Online] Experienced Player looking for a Long-Term Group

Hello, my name is Wolf, and I've been playing TTRPGs for around 8 years now. I have around a year of experience with PF2e at this point (and started playing SF2e recently), so I like to think that I'm relatively familiar with the system at this point. I greatly prefer long-term, RP driven games that go into higher levels, as I find that style of game to be the most fun.

As for what classes I'm most interested in playing, I'm relatively open to filling whatever role the party may need but I've been wanting to play a Wizard or an Animist for a while now, or an Envoy if we'd be playing SF2e.

When it comes to my schedule, I'm pretty flexible but would generally prefer session times to be in the afternoon/evening PST (the only day I most likely wouldn't be available is on Fridays, since I have a different game on that day every other week). If you think I'd be a good fit for your group, feel free to send me a private message or just leave a comment telling me a little about your game/group and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

Group Needed by Player [5e 2014] [5e 2025] [Online] Looking for a group which would accept a new player. Played a little bit, read through a bit of the rules.

Hi there! I'm a newbie when it comes to TTRPGs, but I've been wanting to get into them for a long time. I started on reading through the books and even tried to run a premade DnD Beyond campaign with my friends and I ended up being the DM. I'm trying to sit on the other side of the screen and experience playing as I've wished for for so long. Open to any other suggestions. Thanks!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Other] [Online] Dark Gritty horror conspiracy superhero game

So I'm running a horror game including cosmic horror, body and psychological horror, modern day conspiracy... but with super powers.

I'm using Wild Talents, a game from the same people that made Delta Green, though the system is quite different. Happy to teach!

We are leaning into low level powers, in a world where no one has been known to have powers before: think of the TV shows Heroes and 4400. But with horror. Call of C'thulhu, X-files blended in.

We are playing on Discord for voice and using Foundry, though the Foundry rules set for this has some major flaws, but we can put character sheets and make die rolls with it.

We have three players, though not gonna lie, I'm not sure one of them is reliable yet. I think the other two are. But could use about two more players, maybe three.

Will be playing Tuesdays, 7 pm CST, til about 10 pm.

THEME:

Up until the point we start playing no person has ever experienced powers. Imagine literally no powers existed.

The premise is a new pain reliever called Relivia came out with no apparent, side effects, and pain relieving properties.

Turns out there was a side effect, but it was such a tiny percentage of the population that it wasn’t noticed in FDA trials.

For a tiny tiny minority of Patients it became horribly addictive, and caused psychotic breaks.

After a massive lawsuit, the makers of this pain reliever were forced to open up a rehab center to cure everyone of this addiction.

And this is where the game starts.

I’m having everyone a background of their character who they were before, what caused them to start using this pain reliever, and a psychotic break that caused them to be admitted to this rehab center.

I am making the powers in secret based on the feedback from the players backgrounds. And you’ll discover these powers in play.

Anyone interested?

Group Needed by Player [Online][2014, 2024 or Other][UTC+2][LGBT+] Player Looking for a weekly Mon, Tue, or Wed Group

I’m a 23-year-old (He/Him) intern spending the school year in a new town where I literally know nobody. Honestly, there is no better time for me to finally take my RPG obsession online.

I have two 6-month offline campaigns under my belt, plus some BG3 and D&D podcasts, so I know my way around a character sheet, but I am totally new to online play and virtual tabletops. Playstyle-wise, I am a big fan of deep roleplay mixed with a bit of combat. I am highly adaptable. I can bring a character with a complex backstory, or write down a concept and let the world shape me.

I am strictly looking for an LGBTQ+ friendly table. It is a giant plus if you are a group that sees yourselves playing together long-term.

Because of my work schedule, my Thursday evenings are completely blocked. My weekends are mostly blank, but they can be a bit unpredictable, so weekdays are definitely the safest bet. My exact availability in UTC+2 is:
Mondays anytime after 11:30.
Tuesdays anytime after 14:00.
Wednesdays anytime after 17:00. (once a month its 17:30)
My schedule changes

If you have any questions, feel free to ask

Group Needed by Player Online eastern standard time during evenings flexible looking for a group to play DND with preferably a long campaign with a creative kind of out there world and a DM who’s really good at coming up with kind of wacky plot ideas? 16 willing to play with others who are between the ages of 15 and 19

Hey, what’s up, y’all can call me, James. I’m completely new to DND, but I’m really excited to start playing. My only experience is watching friends play, and helping out with character creation. I really want to join a campaign with a unique world not just your stereotypical fantasy type thing. A DM with wacky ideas would be appreciated. I am available usually Sundays and Saturdays and some weekdays depending on how busy I am. I’m in the Eastern standard time and will usually be playing in the evenings. I also do use Discord to play.
