Hello! My uncle passed away and my mother gave me his lighter, it wouldn’t light so I took it apart to clean it up and then purged it and tried to refill the butane. But I have run into two problems, one and this is because of my own stupidity I can not figure out where the tiny gold cylinder goes, does anyone have any ideas? And the second problem is whenever I flip the light upside down and fill it with butane the butane will leak out of the High Low flame screw hole.

The Zorro 912 is fantastic, it retains fuel exceptionally well against evaporation. I tested it by keep it and lighting it once a week. I refilled it on June 27, 2026, and it ran out on September 2, 2026. Given the intense heat in Indonesia which should accelerate fuel evaporation, it held up impressively well.

It's been about a year since I last posted my Ronson collection, it's grown a lot and I'd love to share. They are all functional except for the watch in the Queenpact. Here's how I "group" them:

The green one is the suspected fake. It felt off it has a different sound when shaken and it has glue on the full hole. Got it from a downtown Minneapolis shop that I've always been weary of especially back in the delta 8 days.

I know this isn't the biggest thing in the world but this smoke shop taxes like crazy a pack of smokes and this lighter gave me 50 cents in change from a 20.

I’m looking to see if anyone knows how to refill this flaminaire disk that is part of a lighter I just bought at a vintage store. I was able to figure out how to add a flint but would like to refill the tank. Thanks

Hey y'all! I'm in the market for a new torch lighter, the one that I bought in a pinch at a glass shop finally crapped out after about a year of abuse and being forgotten outside in the sun.

I'd really like to get something that's going to last years to come for my next torch lighter (I will treat this one better of course, won't be leaving it outside or anything). I don't need the latest quadruple torch whatever with 7 punch cutters and a folding cigar stand from prometheus, I rarely smoke cigars so anything more than a single torch is just burning more butane for no reason. It will mainly be used for my butane vape and the occasional joint or cigar, I just want to get away from disposable lighters. Here's a few of the characteristics I'm looking for:

• Built to last, reliable ignition long term (I want to keep it for years)
• Full metal construction ideally
• Slim enough to be pocketable
• Manual cap covering the torch (I don't want the ignition button to also be responsible for opening the cap, that's just another thing to break)
• Preferably single torch, ideally flat flame

The Black Label El Presidente flat flame lighter is almost exactly what I'm looking for, but I believe they stopped making those like 12 years ago and I can't find anything similar. The next best thing i've found that I kind of like is the Xikar Verano but I've seen almost entirely negative reviews of that company.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I have zippo wicks and flints but the wick in this lighter isn’t exactly like a zippo wick, zippos have copper(?) Wires intertwined this one doesn’t it’s just a soft cotton feeling wick. Can I use zippo wicks and flints in this or is there a different kind that I need?

I will send pictures in the comments as well, butane leaks out of the gas flow dial and obviously wayy to much is coming out of the nozzle as well. How do i go about fixing this? Idk how to take it apart or anything.

I have this lighter that does not work and I wanted to find info and ways to repair it since online I can't find anything similar. All I know is it has written on the bottom "CROWN JAPAN" on the fill valve. It uses butane but I can't use it since the valves do not hold the gas anymore. Also it is probably from the 1960s

Found a clear bic today at an Exxon in the middle of nowhere(driving home from vacation) didn’t realize how rare they were until I looked it up! Added the stickers before even googled it.

Hey all, so I used to by naphtha by the quart both as fuel for my Zippo lighters and as a safe solvent to use when working on guitars and other woodworking projects, i.e. it can clean wood without staining it or drying it out. I bought naphtha by itself specifically because it served both of these purposes, but now it seems that naphtha has come across the chopping block in some capacity because I see others are having trouble sourcing it as well. I used to be able to purchase it at any hardware store but now it's disappeared.

I realize I can just buy Zippo fluid or Ronsonol, but is there something I can buy that's more in "bulk" that would serve the same purpose?

On the left, a CHIEF swing top I got from AliExpress for $4.91 in October. I filled it when I got it and haven’t really used it since, but it still lights. Coming up on a year of it holding fuel without evaporating.

On the right, the Craighill swingtop I got for $78. It’s a good looking lighter, no doubt about that. Lots of neat little details, and it feels nice in the hand. The refill cap doesn’t require a tool to use so that’s a win in my book. Minus points for no extra flint storage area. It’s just got a standard shaft plus spring setup, you may be able to cram another one in there, I don’t know. Fuel lasts quite a while longer than a zippo but it’s not nearly as wind resistant. The CHIEF lighter is much better in the wind, too.

Overall it’s a nice one. I like it quite a bit! I don’t know if it’s totally worth the extra cost over the $5 one, though. YMMV

It has an electric igniter and has a holographic affect in the middle with the butterfly I got it from some strange antique store. I think it is made of aluminum.

This is Esimia, the first sterling silver lighter I’ve made.

I machined the inner structure from solid brass and made the outer body from sterling silver. It contains approximately 30 grams of silver and also has a small hidden compartment built into the base.

Everything was made and finished by hand in my workshop in İznik, Türkiye.

Working with silver was a new experience for me, especially compared with the brass and titanium I normally use, but I really like how this one turned out.

Body stamped XII but insert is 2003. Neighbor was moving out and they had a ton of Marlboro stuff like clothes and other lighters from deceased husband. Let me look around and I found this. Thought it was cool so she let me have it along with some other things.

Hey guys, i just got my first lighter today and need some help with it. The teeth of the flint wheel on my lighter look really worn out and i’m not sure if that’s how they’re supposed to look like. I tried cleaning the wheel with a cloth but it still looks the same black and a little worn i think. I didn’t really notice how it looked when i unboxed it but i’ve been toying with it for a while and i just noticed that bit looks worn. I even saw some metallic powder when i was slowly spinning the wheel for a video, is that normal too? Or should i replace this one to get a new piece.

Edit: What things should i be careful about with my lighter, like i’ll fill it up regularly and change the flint but i haven’t figured out how to change the wick, if this one has any? Plus this flint wheel issue i have.
