Heavymath Feuding Fathers
I don’t know if this band is still playing but I love this clip. The drummer is amazing! Obviously heavy Tera Melos Influence.

it's true. i'm pretty sure i haven't listened to untitled since we became a three piece in 2006. anywho, i made a video of me listening and discussing in real time. i guess they call that a "reaction video" lol. it's on my patreon.
for the TooExpensiveDidntSubscribe crowd- i think it's cool. there's a bunch of stuff i forgot about which was a fun surprise. there's a lot of choices on there that i would never opt for now, but i think that's part of it's magic- bunch of fired up 23 year olds goin' for it. and i unironically love melody 8. and at the end of the day i love that this is a special record to so many people.
there's tons more to explore on my patreon- demos, unreleased bits and bobs, guitar lessons etc. i think i'll do more past album listen throughs as well. that was fun.

Seasick was an unreleased song by Tera Melos (during the Untitled album era), played only a handful of times live back in early 05, if you're a big Tera Melos fan you might recognize it as the mystery song about 7 minutes into the "vintage tera melos footage" video, well this is my recreation of the full song based on any audio of it I could find! probably not perfect but I think it's cool and hope yall agree!! likely will make more of their unreleased stuff here too ;)

whats up math rockers
i wanted to learn this song and couldnt find a tab online that matched up with what i was hearing in the recording so i did it myself yet again
i made four different sheets, two of them are tab-only and two are tab + standard notation, and also two of them have all the measures written out explicitly and two have repeat markings. a real punnett square if you will. i put the condensed tab-only sheet in the image embed but all four versions are on a google drive link so you can take your pick of whichever you prefer reading (theres also a tuxguitar file i used to write out the transcription and the musescore files for the sheets if you wish to peruse)

Found out recently (very recently) that someone put Aye Aye Porcupine on Spotify and YT again, and the credits just say Dan Drake, soooo... might've been Dan Drake himself??

Worth a shot ig, just putting it out there. Don't really have a specific preference within the genre. covet, tiny moving parts, toe, marmelade butcher... All that shit. Even If you're a vocalist looking for a band we'd be happy for you to join yk.
Just putting it out there, you never know I guess.
by "we" I do mean two guitarists... don't let that throw you off though we have plenty experience playing with bands. mainly looking for a drummer right now. I have a couple bassists in mind but I just thought I'd give this a chance.

Hi everyone, I'm Jamarion, a 17 y/o guitarist with about 2 years of consistent playing, 0 band experience. I really want to either start a band or join one. A really big influence of mines is toe, then hyakkei, tricot, chinese football, origami jp, susquatch, and then title fight, train breaks down, and kessoku band. I'd be down to just jam first and see how it goes from there!

Found these 25 year old MP3s in my music folder that I had forgotten about and relistened. Tried searching for this band and got not much on google about them. Would love if anyone knows any more flavor or context about the artists. "Star Dependent" is epic and one of my favorite listens here. Also especially like "Prototype II"

the zankyorecords youtube channel got deleted and with it several popular music videos are gone forever, not a trace on the internet...
I even messaged the director of the MV for a copy of the video but he said he cannot share it due to copyright.
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone who had previously downloaded that video can share it here.
The video used to be at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i53syY2DVP8

I’ve been compiling a playlist of math-y tracks since my college days of listening to toe, LITE, Chon, etc, way back in 2013.
I’d love to infuse this playlist with some more modern sounds, so if you are part of a project that dabbles in this kind of music (or just have been vibing to an artist who does), please share! I’m not super concerned about precise genre constraints, as long as it captures the spirit of math rock or just has that lovely clean guitar twinkle ✨
And if you like what you hear, please give the playlist a follow!

Math rock/progressive post-hardcore from Indianapolis! The songs on this EP are self-described by the band as "a bunch of little islands" hence the Archipelago name, and have a range of influences from bands like The Fall of Troy, The Mars Volta, TTNG and Covet. Hope you dig it!
