I’m 1L and STILL torn between pursuing my medicine dreams or continue my law school journey. I still feel lost in law school and i’m scared that i might be in a wrong path. idk what to do now. Becoming a doctor was my childhood dream but I already invested books in LS and I’m scared to open this up to my parents (pls dont judge me ahhhhh) huhu i feel so so b*bo

To the IM gods out here, can you give any advice how to ace or at least pass IM exams? Information overload malala and most of the time, nakaka-overwhelm na. Thank you!

❓Asking for Help Abusive Professor Help [DLSMHSI]

Hello, my partner has been repeatedly verbally abused by a professor during their medical rotation. I no longer attend the school, but is there any means of intervening? They’ve told me of repeated instances in which this professor has singled them out, and even now the professor seems to be spreading stories to their new set of incoming students about my partner. My partner passed their previous course with this professor, but the fact the professor seems to hold a grudge against them despite their quiet demeanor is jarring. This sickens me deeply and I expect so much more from a school as expensive as HSI. Is there anyway I can step in or send an anonymous tip?

❓Asking for Help YL3 Transfer

Hi! Just wondering if there are any med schools in Metro Manila that accept YL3 transferees who have no failed subjects from their previous school, either for a mid-year transfer (2nd semester) or for YL3 next school year. Asking for a friend! 😅

Would really appreciate any leads, recommendations, or personal experiences. Please be nice—any help or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! 🫶

🗣 Discussion Will NMAT PR matter in the long run?

Hello, doctors!

As the title suggests, I would like to ask for your advice regarding sa kagagahan ko hahaha

Will the NMAT PR matter in the long run, e.g., in applications for PGI-ship and even in residency trainings?

I impulsively signed up for NMAT kasi this October para lang matapos na, knowing na mag-ooverlap sya sa board exam review ko. Priority ko of course yung board exam kasi I have a goal rating.

Kaya willing ako mag settle sa lower PR (i.e., i-sacrifice ang pangarap na 99+ PR) if it won't matter naman in the long run + I already have this target medschool (like 98% sure na) wherein ang required PR is 45.

So yea, will it matter beyond medschool applications?

Thank you po!!!

🌟 Pro advice/tips all my study systems fail me

hello, yl2 from hsi here. i decided to post here nalang kasi nababaliw na ako kakatanong ng ai and i figured i might as well ask for human input. my main problem is that i keep failing my exams without MPL even though i study every day, may work ethic naman ako, responsible naman sa school like listening sa lectures and doing my quizzes.

i believe i start studying earlier than most people. i advance read topics for the next day, i make anki cards with the help of notebooklm, and i spend most of my time studying. ive given up my most important and defining hobbies to make time for studying. hindi naman sa ineexpect ko na pag nag ssacrifice ako, may bunga agad, but i believe i put in the work.

its just that the work doesnt show. i keep failing my exams. nanotice ko to since YL1 pa lang. i kept changing my study systems (highlight transes, anki cards, ratio, ai quizzes) pero wala pa rin, i can do well enough sa actual reviewng pero pagdating sa exam wala akong mareretain.

i feel like ive audited my systems and changed them so many times pero i still dont get the results i want. not trying to gain sympathy here, i just want some advice. maybe some of you can help me audit my study system ATM.

  1. make anki decks using notebooklm using past transes if unavailable pa for this year.
  2. listen during lecture while making anki cards with notebooklm
  3. review the cards before exam (custom study, maximum new cards set to = 999+)

yung mga cards ko usually 200+ per topic, and with 8 topics per exam session it doesnt seem feasible in the long term anymore. honestly im out of ideas, i still need to study for my next exam tomorrow so if anyone could give me some judgement/input it would be greatly appreciated.

We’re asked to get this and there’s roughly cheap one and very expensive ones. Do you guys have any recommendations? Should I invest on expensive ones?
