My heart fucking broke when I learned that a new Deus Ex was in development but was cancelled. It was even during the time I was replaying HR and MD.

They actually cancelled Deus Ex to move the budget to a game called 'Wildlands', an open world game about a bunch of teenagers with magic. You can probably already guess just from how mediocre that sounds that it was cancelled also.

I get DE was over budget, but it was also allegedly in polish phase. Disappointing.

Funny cause that game is on my list of fondly remembered games that I wish had gotten a sequel, or at least a better treatment.

It was fun. Grindy and not super well balanced, and the always online bullshit needed to die, but it wasn't a bad game or story or even gameplay.
