I know it's a game everyone shits on, but Call of Duty: Ghosts. I am one of the people who really loved the campaign and the ending was a crazy cliffhanger with the context you were given earlier in the story. Something big was being set up, but 13 years later and there's never been any publicized plans of them revisiting that story.
While the studio behind it, Infinity Ward, was never shut down, they have definitely been locked into never making anything besides more Modern Warfare sequels.
I’m so happy you mentioned Call of Duty: Ghosts! I loved the campaign as well and I was very sad that there was no sequel to the game coming out. 🥲 That cliff hanger was so good. I really need to replay it.
