You can't magically make the game 60FPS without MAJOR sacrifices to NPC AI/density, traffic density, resolution, reflection quality and overall visual fidelity.
Aiming for 60FPS would have made this game feel fundamentally stripped down in comparison to what we'll get.
I get that, I do. It’s a compromise but part of optimization is to give the consumer agency over these things. I’m not too worried, the game looked good. How far to render buildings and objects, particle density, reflections, the water alone looks like it needs a dedicated GPU to render physics and textures.
If they don’t have that yet is an incomplete game being sold at $100.
But having been burned by CyberPunk I do fear we’re being primed for disappointment after such a marvelous reveal. They could be misleading us and even reaching 30 is not a given.
I'm sorry but this is just moronic. Not every game can run at 60fps on consoles. There are just hardware limitations that no amount of optimizations can change. The PS5 and Series X have old CPUs and there is only so much you can do with that. Saying that a game is unfinished if it doesnt have a 60fps is just silly.
This is just an L take. You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding on if this game could run near 60FPS from a CPU level.
They deliberately set out to push the boundries on maxing CPU utilization with their AI, traffic density and overall visual fidelity. The game would be fundamentally different if they constrained themselves to 60FPS, when their bottleneck is CPU related, for a game like this.
They're simply pushing the boundry for how complex a world can feel if devs push the limit of their CPU power. Having a 60FPS mode would fundamentally not be possible for what they're trying to achieve. I don't blame them for making that decision ahead of time

i hate ai, but agree with the premise, people complain all the time that new games are locked to 30 fps but when it's gta it's suddenly ok?
