My poor ninja 650
Rode my favourite route last thursday, the sun was shining and it was real nice... Up until i hit some gravel in a corner and wasnt able to save it, with more skill and experience maybe I could have, but alas.. the damages was apparently too severe so the insurance is paying me out the bike instead of getting it fixed. Rest in pieces..
So, what bike do I get now?

F my man! But an excuse to get a new bike is still an excuse to get a new bike! How about a CBR650R or switch it up and get an MT07/MT09!

I don't think you add upgrade, stick with a 650

I do enjoy that class, was thinking cbr650r, gsx8r or maybe a Trident 660

Well for starters the opposite side of the front fairing pieces is all torn up so I’m guessing that side looks much worse?

One tiny scratch on the frame and insurance will total it

I work in the motorcycle industry. . Takes a little more than that . But the plastics and labor . 🙄🤦♂️😬

And I've had a bike totalled because of a small scratch that could be barely felt with a fingernail .

Scratch or ripple? I have never seen a scratch so anything other than some calling he wow er a moron and telling them to touch it up or put a sticker on it .
A ripple .. frame’s fucked .

If was just a scratch , why report it at all ?

It wasn't just the scratch on the frame. In fact, I didn't see that over the plastics and tank damage. The appraiser spotted the scratch first and told me that was enough

Always fun shopping new bikes! Be patient, take test rides, be ready to walk away, check web for issues, glad YOU weren't hurt!

Neither would a car.
In fact, a bus would have been safer! Or a train! Great rec.

Yeah but then he has to call everyone "brotheeeeeer" and grow a long Grey beard, listen to shitty music so loud they can hear it two counties over, become obese, and get pissed every time he gets passed.

Another ninja 650 perhaps? - how can we tell man wrecking a bike doesn’t mean you get to move up to something faster and better - skills development is what determines that
