This one has been in the planning phase for a while! It’s my first time doing a full-art alter on a surge foil, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Foils always look better in person than in photos, but I think that’s especially true for surge foils.

I’ve also been experimenting a little more with dark acrylic backgrounds lately, which I think suited this piece really well.

Medium - Sakura Microns and blue Copic marker on a stripped surge foil, with black acrylic marker for the background.

Second attempt of altering here. 🎨

Thought I'd pick up altering as a fun challenge, have a whole bunch of bulk I've set aside for fun ideas to practise with.

Golden Fluid Acrylics used, the Wargamer: Psycho Brush was a must.

Need to remove the varnish from the background with a bit of acetone, but very happy with how the texturing turned out!

In terms of pricing, how do you figure out a reasonable amount? Obviously base cost of the card is taken into consideration.

Hello! I am running a charity Magic the Gathering Cube tournament on Nov 7-8 in Baltimore. We ended up moving to a bigger venue to accommodate more guests and we now have room for a few artist tables! If you are near the Baltimore area and interested in setting up a table for one or both days let me know. It's 100 attendees, and people who care about Cube tend to care about alters more than the average player so I thought it would be good fit.

Done with sharpies in about 1 and half hours each
