I adore this name but don’t know what others would think. I have brought it up to my family and some say it’s cute and others are sort of quiet. I love the meaning and think it’s classic but not completely out there!

Hello!! So unfortunately there’s no way to remove the name Dylan from the baby name list here because it’s my name and I’m 26.

I have learned to love my name after a lifetime of bullying, yet I still want a nickname. I’m not looking to legally change my name, but here are my choices.

Dinny -> my childhood nickname that I chose for myself for some reason and kind of actually works here.

Lainey (sp?) -> to me this is just the last syllable of Dylan pronounced differently and made into a cute girly nickname.

Twila -> my favorite name since I was a kid. has nothing to do with my legal name so it’s not really a nickname, I just think it’s gorgeous especially with a second name like twila may. which brings me to my next choice…

May -> my birth month. twilamay was my AIM username as a kid.

Deedee -> not great, but doable with potential to love it. i’ve been through the “dee/D” nickname era way too many times but this at least sounds cuter

Any other suggestions that aren’t listed would be amazing!!!!!

Edit to add: other ideas I’ve heard are Lynn/Lynne/Lynnie, Dyl (no i was so majorly bullied for this lol), and Dawley/Dollie (family name). and I’d also like to mention that I love ending names with an “ie” as an Appalachian baby. All my Emma’s are Emmies and June’s are Junie’s.

Boy names are impossible for me and I feel like I keep seeing the same ones over and over again on these baby name lists. Can anyone suggest anything not too out there but that I might not have thought of?

I don’t want it to be too close to our first kids name so it can’t start with an A or end with an N. Nothing in the top 100 but it doesn’t have to be super uncommon either.

Ok, I have an awesome last name. Very cool and flows AMAZINGLY with my first name.

UNFORTUNATELY it’s my ex-partner’s last name. About a week and a half ago, after 6 years, he moved out with one bag of his stuff and ghosted me. Found out he had put in notice at his job, lied to me about it, proceeded to buy a brand new car with me right after, and then after he left I found a reddit post from about a year ago referencing him having multiple sexual partners.

For uh, obvious reasons, I do not want to keep his last name. I also don’t want to go with my maiden name.

We're having a daughter, and a name I really like is Nancy. My partner also likes it.

But I know it's also old fashioned, and not very popular for babies right now. I had also mentioned it to my parents and my mother had said it’s very American, which neither of us are.

My first thought was an Italian name, because zucchini stems from an Italian word but I’m not opposed to other names.
I was also considering giving it multiple middle names for comedic effect.

Sneak peek says it’s a boy I know that could be wrong but I have a girl’s name picked out anyway we are completely lost on a boy name. I really don’t have any that I like my son odies really name is Odin It’s a family name.

The only boys name is somewhat like is Benjamin but it feels plain compared to my other kids names.

Pregnant with my first son. I’m so picky on names, and honestly I don’t love any boy names. Ones I like well are too popular for me to consider (Liam etc.) .. I loved my daughters name too much to care about it’s popularity however 🤣

My husband’s name is Thomas, and he’s a junior. His dad doesn’t go by Thomas though, and we don’t want him being a third because their middle name stinks, and his dad has no reason to really deserve it per say.

If I have a girl in the future, I’d love to name her Kitty. I know it’s an older nickname for Catherine, but I like just Kitty. She could go by Kit or Kat if she wanted. Other names I like are Loretta and Mavis.

My partner thinks Kitty is too out there, but it’s my favorite. I feel like it connects us both because we were both crazy about cats growing up and still are. We have 4 and have fostered over 50 this summer. Our love for cats is a big part of us both.

I know it’s out there.. but I have a brother with a 1 in a billion name, he is named after an element but for privacy I don’t want to specify which. I hated it at first, but now it fits him so well and I can’t imagine him any other way.
