Out of all the scenes in both series which scenes do you find the best in your eyes? Easily in my personal opinion no scene any of the series top this because of the timing of everything. The end of an empire, as Pablo walks around the park you see the peace everywhere without his presence, and most importantly his last convo with Gustavo. Truly a powerful scene because of the realization of everything has come to an end and the worst part of it his partner in crime and brother in arms is gone. Emotions on this scene run high as we prepare for the inevitable end of Pablo. I spent a lot of season two strongly disliking Pablo but this part made me so sad for him. All in all what a perfect scene and ending to one of the best seasons in both Narcos series.

I don’t get why people are so obsessed with it. Innocent kids families mothers fathers are being harassed and killed everyday.

Give us a show where we seeing them being taken down. Stop the corruption.

Watching Narcos: Mexico. Just wanted to say that it was awesome to see Escobar in this episode! I wasn't expecting to see him in this series, so that was a great surprise and a nice crossover with the original. And a great reminder of what an excellent actor Wagner Moura is.

What was life in the business like during that time, old school codes etc

I’m traveling to Cancun for a week stay with friends and family and have purchased this shirt I wear it in Texas regularly with no issue. I know the resorts are an off limits for cartels to not affect business but would this be okay to wear during the day in town?

Jorge is probably the most complex character in either series and his storyline is the closest to a redemption arc. Do you think he was able to atoned for his past actions or was he just another criminal who snitched on his former associates to save himself and his family?

America Fights Phony War on Drugs

In April, ex-Drug Enforcement Agency agent Celerino Castillo made a pilgrimage to the Vietnam Memorial wall in Washington, D.C., where he left his boots next to the name of a friend killed in the war. The Pharr, Texas, native also left his Bronze Star, which he earned for his covert actions in Southeast Asia in 1972, and a letter to the president:

"Dear President Clinton,

"In the 1980s, I spent six years in Central America as a special agent with the DEA. On January 14, 1986, I forewarned then Vice President George Bush of the U.S. government involvement in narcotics-trafficking (Oliver North) . . . but to no avail . . . "In display of my disappointment of my government, I am returning my Bronze Star, along with my last pair of jungle boots that I used in the jungles of Vietnam, Peru, Colombia, El Salvador and finally Guatemala."

While stationed in Central America, Castillo exposed the U.S. government's drug connection. He personally kept records on planes used in the U.S.-Contra resupply operation at Ilopango Air Force Base in El Salvador -- arriving with guns and departing to the United States with cocaine from Colombia. "Every single pilot involved in the operation was a documented drug trafficker, who appeared in DEA files," he says.

Castillo not only turned over his files to his superiors, but also confronted Bush with the information in Guatemala City -- several months before American Eugene Hasenfus was shot down over Nicaragua, an incident which first exposed the Iran-Contra affair.

Castillo says that on the basis of his work, he is convinced that drug money is what finances U.S. covert operations worldwide. He believes that despite the "War on Drugs," there are more drugs coming into the United States today than 15 years ago and estimates that at least 75 percent of all narcotics enter the country with the acquiescence of or direct participation by U.S. and foreign intelligence services.

I'm on episode 3 of season 1, please no spoilers beyond this. I'm just very impressed with the quality level and focus of Narcos: Mexico. Matta-Ballesteros and other defendants attempted to assert a defense of public authority.   See Fed.R.Crim.P. 12.3.   The defendants primarily relied on a news article concerning an alleged connection between Felix-Gallardo, the CIA, and the Nicaraguan Contras with respect to arms smuggling.¹¹  The defendants also relied on testimony from a government witness, Lawrence Harrison.   Ultimately, however, Harrison testified that he had no personal knowledge of CIA involvement with drug traffickers in Mexico.

 The court's determination that there was no evidence of a connection between the defendants' activities and the government, and that the subpoena was not likely to lead to the discovery of relevant evidence, was not clearly erroneous.   There was no showing that any relationship between Felix-Gallardo, the CIA, and the Nicaraguan Contras amounted to United States government approval of the narcotics enterprise alleged in the indictment.   Indeed, the evidence at trial concerning the DEA's aggressive enforcement of the United States' laws against narcotics trafficking showed exactly the opposite.¹²  A defendant is not entitled to government documents relating to alleged CIA involvement in his criminal activity where no sufficient showing of potential relevance has been made under Fed.R.Crim.P. 16.   See United States v. Little, 753 F.2d 1420, 1444-45 (9th Cir.1984).   Therefore, the district court did not abuse its discretion in quashing the subpoena and, consequently, in excluding evidence of CIA authorization. Does anyone have any information about Cartel boss Lazcano or any information about los zetas that isn’t publicly available online. Im currently researching and finding the blue print behind cartels and former cartels such as los zetas. I find it interesting and fascinating on how they are run and organised. I will also be going over to Mexico and start journaling my tour in the country.
